Aujourdโhui, nous rendons hommage ร la force, au courage et ร lโhumanitรฉ des femmes vivant avec une fistule obstรฉtricale, et nous cรฉlรฉbrons chaque femme qui a retrouvรฉ sa santรฉ, sa confiance et son avenir aprรจs son traitement.

๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ et ses partenaires locaux ont permis ร ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ฌ ๐โ๐๐๐๐ฬ๐๐๐ซ ๐ฬ ๐๐๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ฌ ๐ซ๐ฬ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ contre la fistule ร Madagascar. Derriรจre chacun de ces chiffres se trouve une histoire. Celle dโune femme qui reprend le travail, reconstruit ses relations, retrouve le sourire et lโespoir.
La fistule obstรฉtricale est une blessure ร la fois รฉvitable et traitable. Aucune femme ne devrait souffrir dโune complication liรฉe ร lโaccouchement faute dโaccรจs ร des soins de santรฉ sรฉcurisรฉs.

May 23 is the International Day to End Obstetric Fistula ๐
Today, we honour the strength, courage, and humanity of women living with fistula, and celebrate every woman who has reclaimed her health, confidence, and future after treatment.
Since 2020, Operation Fistula and our local partners have helped more than 2,000 women access life changing fistula care in Madagascar. Behind every one of those numbers is a woman with a story. A woman returning to work. Rebuilding relationships. Laughing again. Feeling hopeful again.
Obstetric fistula is both preventable and treatable. No woman should experience a devastating childbirth injury because she could not access safe healthcare.
This yearโs theme says it clearly: โHer Health Is a Right: Invest to End Fistula and Childbirth Injuries.โ
Today is about recognising progress, but also recognising how far we still have to go. Millions of women around the world still live without access to the care they need and deserve.
To our surgeons, nurses, midwives, community teams, partners, supporters, and most importantly, the women who trust us with their care, thank you. This work belongs to all of us.
