Five years of Meraki Smile School. 🎉
Last week we closed the 2025/2026 school year the way it deserved: performances, speeches from our own students, and certificates handed out across every level — from our oldest students taking the mic to our youngest in kindergarten. Then we opened the doors on 2026/2027.
Five years ago this was an idea. Today it’s a school year that ends with every child holding something they earned. Thank you to everyone who got us here. 💛

Cinco años de Meraki Smile School. 🎉

One pot from Ana. Oats, milk, and peanut butter from Leader Price. That’s all it takes to cook breakfast for our students at Meraki Smile School — no gas, no electricity, just a wood fire and a lot of care. 🔥🥣

New year, new curriculum🎒

We’re building something exciting for 2026–2027 — a bilingual programme blending Cambridge Lower Secondary with the Malagasy national curriculum, designed just for our students.
Huge thanks to Escuela Cultura de Paz , our donors, and our supporters for these beautiful new books — you made this possible. 🙏📚
More to come soon…

Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 from Meraki Smile School 🧡

At Meraki Smile School, today marks a beautiful milestone for the families of our students in Antananarivo. 🐐🐓

While our core mission is to provide quality education to our students, thanks to the help of an angel investor we’ve been able to go even further — first by offering safe housing to their families, and now by purchasing the very first animals to help them start small, sustainable businesses. 🌱

These animals represent more than income; they are a step toward independence, stability, and breaking free from the cycle of poverty.

Both our team and the families are overjoyed — and this is only the beginning. ❤️
