Attention, filmmakers who live and work on the African continent!

Applications are now open for the Hot Docs-Blue Ice Docs Fund. This fund provides you with development and production grants to help you tell your stories and contribute to the next generation of African documentary talent.

Each year, we also invite up to five funded projects to participate in a year-long mentorship program guided by international mentors, consisting of a private digital filmmaker lab, year-round mentorship from seasoned doc professionals, and participation at Hot Docs and Durban FilmMart/Durban International Film Festival.

The application deadline is Monday, December 2.

🎬 VATOHARA, quand les polypes nettoient la fosse

Réalisateur : Gilde Razafitsihadinoina

Un phénomène qui semble être anodin se passe dans la ville de Toamasina mais le réalisateur de documentaire Gilde Razafitsihadinoina, lui, voit une menace écologique importante. Résonnant comme une sonnette d’alarme, son film « Vatohara » vient de rafler le prix du MEILLEUR COURT METRAGE d'ANT'SARY DOC FILM FESTIVAL Madagascar, en pointant le doigt sur le commerce lucratif des coraux, comme matériaux de construction. Si une réalité socio-économique se dégage de ce film, l’intention creuse un sujet plus profond qui mérite l’attention générale.
