Happy to share our recent report, “Empowering Journeys for All Abilities: Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Sport,” bringing together evidence from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Portugal.

The findings are clear: while policies increasingly recognize the right to participate in sport, real inclusion still depends on accessible facilities, trained coaches, affordable opportunities, adapted equipment, and stronger cooperation between sport, health, education, and social sectors.

Every person deserves the opportunity to experience the physical, mental, and social benefits of sport.

Inclusion is not achieved by policy alone, it has to be achieved through action.

Through the “Stride and Glide” program, we had the opportunity to engage with future sports leaders on what inclusion in sport truly means in practice. We presented findings from international research conducted in Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Portugal, highlighting the barriers persons with disabilities still face in accessing sport and physical activity.

The training focused on the practical application of inclusive methods through interactive exercises, showing how sports activities can be adapted to different needs while creating safe and supportive environments for everyone.

This activity was realized in partnership with Primary School Pavle Rovinski, Gymnasium Slobodan Škerović, and University of Montenegro.

Edukatori kao nosioci promjena u lokalnim zajednicama 💡

U okviru Play2Employ projekta uspješno je realizovan trening za edukatore, koji je okupio 10 učesnika iz pet crnogorskih opština – Andrijevice, Rožaja, Cetinja, Ulcinja i Kolašina 📍

Fokus treninga bio je na jačanju kapaciteta edukatora za primjenu sportske metodologije kao efikasnog alata za unapređenje zapošljivosti mladih. Kroz ovaj proces, edukatori postaju multiplikatori znanja u lokalnim zajednicama – spremni da svoja iskustva prenesu mladima, ali i drugim edukatorima 🤝

U narednom periodu, edukatori će realizovati radionice za učenike srednjih škola, sa ciljem razvoja vještina za zapošljavanje kroz sportske aktivnosti 🏀

Strengthening capacities for sustainable employability 💡

As part of the Play2Employ project, an Educator Training was successfully implemented, bringing together 10 participants from five municipalities in Montenegro – Andrijevica, Rožaje, Cetinje, Ulcinj and Kolašin 📍

The training focused on strengthening educators’ abilities to implement sport methodology as an effective tool for enhancing employability and resilience. Through this process, educators become multipliers in their local communities, ready to transfer their knowledge to young people as well as fellow educators 🤝

In the upcoming phase, trained educators will implement student education workshops aimed at building key employability skills through sport-based activities 🏀

🏁 Početak projekta Stride & Glide

Sport treba da bude prostor dostupnosti, a ne isključenja.
Ipak, osobe s invaliditetom i dalje imaju znatno manje prilika za redovno bavljenje fizičkom aktivnošću, što direktno utiče na zdravlje, samopouzdanje i kvalitet života.

Upravo na taj izazov odgovara projekat Stride and Glide — kroz edukaciju i jačanje kapaciteta sportskih profesionalaca za kvalitetan i siguran rad s osobama s invaliditetom, ali i kroz konkretne inkluzivne sportske aktivnosti koje će se realizovati tokom trajanja projekta.

📍 Kick-off sastanak u Sarajevu okupio je partnere iz BiH, Crne Gore, Austrije i Portugala i označio početak zajedničkog rada na razvoju održivih i pristupačnih sportskih prilika za sve.

Ponosni smo što smo dio ovog Erasmus+ projekta koji inkluziju ne vidi kao dodatak — već kao osnov sporta. ♿🏃‍♂️

🏁 Start of the Stride and Glide: Empowering Journeys For All Abilities Project

Sport should be a space of accessibility, not exclusion.
However, persons with disabilities still have significantly fewer opportunities for regular physical activity, directly affecting their health, self-confidence, and overall quality of life.

The Stride and Glide project responds to this challenge by strengthening the capacities of sports professionals to work safely and effectively with persons with disabilities, while also creating concrete opportunities for inclusive sports activities throughout the project duration.

📍 The kick-off meeting brought together partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Austria, and Portugal, marking the beginning of joint efforts to develop sustainable and accessible sport opportunities for all.

We are proud to be part of this Erasmus+ project, which sees inclusion not as an add-on — but as the foundation of sport. ♿🏃‍♂️

🚀 Počinjemo novi projekat: Sport for Inclusion and Empowerment (SiE)

Vjerujemo da je sport mnogo više od igre – on je prostor jednakih šansi, osnaživanja i pripadnosti.
Kroz projekat SiE radimo na tome da sport učinimo dostupnijim mladima i osobama koje se suočavaju s preprekama u učešću, jačajući inkluziju, samopouzdanje i aktivno učešće u zajednici.

📍 Kick-off sastanak u Sarajevu zvanično je označio početak ove međunarodne saradnje koja okuplja partnere iz Španije, Bosne i Hercegovine, Crne Gore, Albanije i Grčke.
U narednim mjesecima fokusiraćemo se na istraživanje, edukaciju i praktične aktivnosti koje sport stavljaju u službu društvenih promjena.

Ponosni smo što je REGSPO dio konzorcijuma koji zajednički gradi temelje inkluzivnijeg i osnaženijeg sportskog okruženja.

We believe that sport is much more than a game — it is a space for equal opportunities, empowerment, and belonging.
Through the SiE project, we aim to make sport more accessible to young people and individuals facing barriers to participation, strengthening inclusion, self-confidence, and active engagement in the community.

📍 The kick-off meeting in Sarajevo officially marked the start of this international collaboration, bringing together partners from Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, and Greece.
In the coming months, we will focus on research, education, and practical activities that place sport at the service of social change.

We are proud that REGSPO is part of a consortium jointly building the foundations of a more inclusive and empowering sports environment.

Od terena do konkretnih prilika za budućnost ✨

Trening trenera u okviru projekta Play2Employ uspješno je završen ✅

Ukupno 12 trenera iz Crne Gore, Sjeverne Makedonije, Albanije i Kosova, osnaženo je znanjem i praktičnim vještinama za primjenu sportskog alata, sa ciljem da kroz sport uključe marginalizovane mlade i podrže razvoj njihovih vještina za zapošljavanje 🏀💪

Nakon završenog treninga, treneri nastavljaju sa aktivnostima diseminacije, uključujući nastavnike, edukatore i omladinske radnike, i vode sportske sesije koje promovišu zapošljivost i socijalnu inkluziju 🌱

From the field to future opportunities ✨

The Training of Trainers within the Play2Employ project has been successfully completed ✅

Twelve trainers from Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro were equipped with practical knowledge and skills to implement the sport-based toolkit, engaging marginalized youth and supporting the development of key employability skills 🏀💪

Following the training, trainers will continue with dissemination activities, involving teachers, educators and youth workers, and leading sport-based sessions that promote employability and social inclusion 🌱

U narednoj fazi projekta Play2Employ, testirali smo sportski alat za razvoj zapošljivosti namijenjen mladima uzrasta 14–18 godina 🏀💼

Mladi su učestvovali u pilotiranju metodologije, dok su treneri i fasilitatori prikupljali povratne informacije kako bi dodatno unaprijedili alat prije njegove šire primjene 📝

Dobijeni uvidi predstavljaju važan korak ka snažnijoj, kvalitetnijoj i dugoročno održivoj verziji alata koji odgovara stvarnim potrebama mladih 🔍

In the next phase of the Play2Employ project, we piloted the sport-based employability toolkit designed for youth aged 14–18 🏀💼

Group of young people took part in testing the methodology, while trainers and facilitators collected feedback to further refine the toolkit before moving on to wider dissemination 📝

These insights are a key step toward developing a stronger, more effective and youth-responsive final version 🔍

U okviru projekta Play2Employ uspješno smo zaključili online co-creation radionice posvećene razvoju sportskog alata za jačanje zapošljivosti mladih uzrasta 14–18 godina širom Zapadnog Balkana 🌍

Kroz dinamične i kolaborativne sesije, sportski stručnjaci, edukatori i omladinski radnici zajednički su osmislili praktične i inkluzivne aktivnosti koje pomažu mladima da razviju ključne vještine – timski rad, komunikaciju, rješavanje problema, upravljanje konfliktima i druge vještine važne za njihovu budućnost 🧠🤝

Ovaj proces još jednom je potvrdio koliko su saradnja i zajedničko kreiranje važni za kvalitetna i održiva rješenja za mlade.

As part of the Play2Employ project, we successfully completed the online co-creation workshops focused on developing a sport-based employability toolkit for young people aged 14–18 across the Western Balkans 🌍
