World No To***co Day 2026 | ***coExposed

This year’s WHO campaign shines a light on how the to***co and ni****ne industry continues to make harmful products appealingβ€”especially to young people. From flavored vapes and sleek packaging to aggressive digital marketing, addiction is being redesigned for a new generation.

At ISEA, our research and policy work continuously underline the importance of stronger public health measures, youth protection policies, and evidence-based regulation of to***co and emerging ni****ne products. πŸ“Š

Our findings, in line with WHO evidence, show that:

πŸ”Ή Young people are increasingly exposed to ni****ne products through social media and targeted marketing
πŸ”Ή New ni****ne products are often perceived as β€œless harmful,” despite serious health risks
πŸ”Ή Prevention, education, and stronger regulation remain key to reducing to***co and ni****ne use among youth

On ***coDay, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting research-driven policies that protect public health and help create healthier communities for future generations. πŸŒπŸ’™

Together, we can expose the tactics and reduce the appeal of to***co and ni****ne addiction.

πŸ“’ New Factsheet on Cigarette Tax Policies in Montenegro πŸ‡²πŸ‡ͺ🚭

Check out the latest factsheet based on the fourth edition of the Cigarette Tax Scorecard, which looks at how Montenegro is performing on cigarette taxation.

In 2024, Montenegro scored 3 out of 5 overall β€” higher than the regional and income-group averages. πŸ‘ But there is still plenty of room for improvement compared to leading countries.

Here’s what the score is based on:
πŸ’° Cigarette price
πŸ“‰ Changes in affordability
πŸ“Š Share of tax in the final price
βš™οΈ Tax structure

Montenegro performed best in tax structure (5/5), but scored 0 points for affordability change, meaning ci******es have not become less affordable.

πŸ“‰ Compared to 2018, the overall score declined because affordability has not decreased, even though the tax structure has improved.

βœ… The factsheet also provides recommendations for strengthening to***co tax policies, which could help protect public health and increase government revenues.
