The past year has been a time of growth, focus, and community-building for Casa de Fotografie. We did not simply implement projects — a circle of people has begun to form around the institution, united by an interest in photography as a language of thought, dialogue, and creation.
🔹 March 13–14, 2025 | Round table
“Photography in Moldova: Between the Legacy of the Past and the Challenges of the Present”
At Zpațiu, within the framework of the war photography exhibition “FRONT", we brought together photographers, researchers, and cultural practitioners to discuss how socio-political upheavals, including the war in Ukraine, shape visual culture, influence photographic strategies, and affect processes of identity formation. It was a deep and honest conversation that revealed a strong need for continuity and further exchange.
🔹 July 6, 2025 | “Primar pentru 10 minute” Project
For the platform, Casa de Fotografie developed the concept and fully produced a street photography exhibition. Through images and statements by residents of the Centru and Rîșcani districts, real urban issues were brought into public space: pedestrian safety, green areas, public transportation, and regulated parking. Photography became a tool for civic participation and visible public dialogue.
🔹 November 23–30, 2025 | UNFOLDING Workshop — Moldox Lab
In collaboration with Moldox Lab, we organized a workshop for authors working on photographic projects still in progress. Together, we explored how to find a narrative within existing material, how to structure the chaos of images and ideas, and how to transform an unfinished project into a coherent and meaningful visual statement.
Throughout this year, a community has begun to take shape around Casa de Fotografie — photographers, researchers, curators, artists, and audiences for whom content, context, and responsibility in visual language truly matter. We see this as our greatest value and our main resource for the future.
We want to continue creating together in unity: developing visual culture, supporting authors, and building spaces for dialogue and collaboration.
As we approach the new year, we wish everyone growth — personal
