Because it does...

We have a choice today, a choice between love and hate, life and death, and the decisions we make today, impact someone else's tomorrow.

We are surrounded by hopelessness and despair, but it doesn't mean it's hopeless.

Together we make a difference, together the lost and the broken, the hurting and the desperate.

Please, for someone else's sake, let's stand together and help those affected by poverty, human-trafficking, conflict and natural-disaster.

Meet 82 year old Ludmilla...

Yesterday we welcomed more than 600 Ukrainian refugees to our warehouse, funded by our incredible friends Oakland International Limited, and amongst them 82 year old Ludmilla.

Unbeknown to us, Ludmilla had been queuing for hours to receive food and clothing, items that to most would seem so trivial, and yet to her, worth the enormous wait.

And yet look, she's smiling, and not just for the camera, this was her demeanour the moment she stepped into the warehouse, expressing her profound gratitude to the entire Hope4 team.

This humbled me and reminded me of all those things I take for granted, things these precious people are willing to stand hours for.

We do what we do for Ludmilla, and the other 117,000 who now call Moldova home, waiting out a w@r that refuses to finish.

So, when you're buying me coffee, or pledging, as many of you so, £hundreds, just remember why and who you're doing this for.

Together those impacted by poverty, human trafficking, conflict and natural disaster, people like this precious, beautiful lady who spoke with such dignity, and held herself with such grace.

Well, I did it...

Thank you to EVERYONE who reached out, commented and encouraged me today.

It's been a while since I sang and played the guitar and in fact, I practiced so much for this incredible event, my fingers bled (literally).

For those who haven't yet seen my post this morning, I was invited to sing and speak on the first day of school, at a village called Radeni.

And, using my bleeding fingers as an example; if you've never played the guitar you simply won't understand, I was able to encourage the wonderful pupils from this small school.

See, we all face tough situations, times when it's so painful we simply want to give up, but those are the times we need to push on.

There were times this week I wanted to give up, times I was unable to play a single chord, the pain telling me I can't - but I pressed on, the reward seeing every young face this morning, daring to believe they can.

At the same time, my beautiful wife Zoe Lomas was addressing two other schools, along with Olesia Shevchenko, carrying a similar message of Hope.

Hope is a very powerful thing, and together this tiny nation.

Please meet our new 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 as I continue our series of announcements...

In addition to assembling a strong executive team, it's critical that we curate an advisory team of unparalleled excellence. This is essential as we forge ahead with our growth trajectory and meaningful impact.

This entails enlisting the support of individuals who not only share our passion for people, but also carry their own history of achievement, contributing the full weight of their knowledge, experience, and network.

As you can well imagine, security is a pivotal aspect of this endeavour, particularly given the diverse and demanding arenas in which we operate—be it combating human trafficking or delivering aid across enemy lines in Ukraine.

I want to clarify that we do not approach these matters lightly; safeguarding my team's well-being and my own is of paramount concern, even amidst the inevitable risks, I owe that to my wife, as well as my children.

It is therefore with huge excitement I’m pleased to introduce 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐡, a trusted confidant for the past 12 months.

David's background as a former 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨, with eight years service spanning Northern Ireland, The Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, and East Africa, showcases over 15 years of expertise in orchestrating intricate security operations within the most hostile landscapes.

David has a rich array of accomplishments, ranging from training security personnel at US bases in Iraq, to steering anti-piracy initiatives off the coast of Somalia. He's also provided personal protection for private-clients in some of the world’s most challenging hotspots.

Assuming the role of 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫, David's presence has already been felt on the ground in Moldova and Ukraine, closely collaborating with me to devise strategies against the entrenched menace of human trafficking.

His current mission positions him along the Ukraine border, offering unparalleled insight to the Hope4 team. David will be conducting comprehensive assessments of our operational protocols, personal safety measures, and even self-defense strategies.

A birthday message 😍

I'm not a big one for birthday's preferring to focus on others before myself, although I am grateful already for the outpouring of love I've received.

Honestly, I no longer live for myself, I live for those who need love, kindness and support. I live for the widow, the orphan and the poor, for the lost, for the victim, and for the broken.

And I'm grateful for each and every one of you who equip me to impact lives, we can only do it together 💯

What a month...

This extraordinary lady has been with us for one month now, and what a month it's been.

She's the best thing I never knew we needed - what we were looking for was an admin manager, what we got was a born leader.

It was love at first sight, Ivan Ivancev and I convinced she would make an incredible contribution to our small and yet growing organisation.

It's true, we are surrounded by extraordinary women, Elena Prysiazhniuk joining the ever so incredible Zoe Lomas, Lea 🌈 Turner and Natalia Postolachi as we impact lives together.

We have just experienced a month of breath-taking acceleration, as this humanitarian, entrepreneur, refugee put aside her own challenges and frustrations to champion the needs of others.

Oh yes, she's Hope4 through and through, adding to an already culture of extravagant love, the needs of others preceding our own.

"Ela", on behalf of Ivan Ivancev and myself, thank you!! If this is what you can do in 1 month, I can't wait to see where we'll be in 12.

Odessa has become a very dangerous place..

Just 58 kilometres from the Moldovan border lies Odessa, Ukraine’s largest port, which is now under increasing and sustained bombardment, the latest target, the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral, hardly of any military significance!

Odessa has enormous tactical, symbolic and economic significance. For the rest of the world the fate of the port will determine the severity of a growing food crisis and this latest development will carry grave significance to us all, and in particular for the work of Hope4.

Along with the UNHCR, we have been working on what’s called, “The Odessa Contingency”, which thankfully hasn’t materialised as yet, but with the now sustained attacks, we and the rest of Moldova are bracing ourselves.

The Odessa Contingency anticipates an all out attack, the sounds of which will be heard from Hope4’s offices, the impact around the entire world!

I will be holding emergency talks in the morning with the Hope4 team and it’s partners as we prepare for what could be a mobilisation of refugees across Moldova’s borders the likes of which are yet unseen!

The burden to feed and protect (from human traffickers) refugees will be more than we can bear alone, the need for our incredible partners never greater, especially at a time when most NGO’s are pulling out!

Even now I am preparing for meetings, the burden of what is likely to come weighing heavy on my mind this morning!
