Peace and Sport makes sport a vehicle for tolerance, respect, sharing and citizenship at the service of sustainable peace through five types of action:

• A platform for cooperation and operational coordination between all actors for peace and sport.
• An annual International Forum: a unique event assembling top decision-makers from sports and governments, top-level athletes, corporat

ions, field practitioners, NGOs and international organizations.
• Locally-Based Projects: concrete actions in different regions of crisis in the world
• our Champions for Peace, involving top-level athletes in our field programs and awareness raising campaigns
• the Peace and Sport Awards, to reward individuals and initiatives contributing to peace

🌍 Invited by to the NGO Forum for its expertise in sport for peace, Peace and Sport highlighted the fundamental role of sport in education and social cohesion through the intervention of Olympic gold medalist and Champion for Peace Vénuste Niyongabo.

From organizing the Friendship Games at African borders to deploying the Peacemaker project in Burundi, the approach remains the same : educating citizens before seeking performance, and transmitting a culture of mutual respect.

The Friendship Games organized by Peace and Sport in the Great Lakes region demonstrate that cooperation is also built on the field. 🤼‍♂️

Bringing together children from Burundi, the DRC and Rwanda in mixed teams, this cross-border event bridges national divides in the name of collective action.
