Amazigh Girl matters Amazigh Girl Matters is a non-profit organization founded by the end of 2019.

It is the first NGO which is run almost exclusively by Amazigh girls from different regions across Morocco, especially from the rural areas of Souss Massa and Guelmim oued noun (Ifran Anti Atlas, Imjad, Tafraout,Aflla Ighir and Lakhssass). However, it is open for new members to join and participate in building this noble civil society action. Among other objectives, it aims specifically at vindic

ating Amazigh girl’s rights. Each of the founders of this association has her own distinguished story, with a different journey of sacrifices and challenges. Yet the common goal among all of them now is setting up a solid background for empowering the Amazigh girl and her potentials to gain a recognition of her status as a citizen of value. Also, the association states among other objectives a strategy to subvert the stereotypes conceived of the rural Amazigh girl and enable her to claim her basic rights and express fully and freely her thoughts and opinions. This engagement and conscience appeal towards the situation of the rural Amazigh girl pushes us to start collaboratively this social network and expand it to include issues of the Moroccan women in general. In other words, our main objective is to improve the situation of the Amazigh girl particularly and women generally, through sessions of awareness-raising and training actions in several domains (socio-economic and educational, cultural ...) in addition to inciting and encouraging the creation of income-generating activities.

🌍 From the Amazigh Atlas Mountains to the Heart of Africa.

We are proud to announce that Amazigh Girl Matters has been officially selected as a Strategic Partner of the Pawanka Fund for North Africa — and our journey began under the Kenyan sky. 🇲🇦❤️🇰🇪

We had the honor of participating in the Africa Partners Learning Exchange Initiative in Kenya — an extraordinary gathering of 60+ indigenous organizations from across the continent, united by one belief: that our communities hold the knowledge, strength, and vision to lead their own change.

Over several powerful days, we engaged in:
🔹 Partner presentations & panel discussions
🔹 Leadership & climate advocacy workshops
🔹 Cross-cultural dialogue & community storytelling
🔹 Deep connections with indigenous women leaders across Africa

This wasn't just a conference. It was a movement. A reminder that indigenous voices — Amazigh voices — belong at every table, in every conversation, on every stage. 💙

We return home stronger, more connected, and more determined than ever to fight for Amazigh women's rights, leadership, and visibility across North Africa and beyond.

The mountains taught us resilience. Kenya reminded us we are not alone. 🏔️🌍

💙 Amazigh Girl Matters — Because every amazigh girl's story matters.

We were honored to welcome a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD) and the team of Migration & Développement to the headquarters of Amazigh Girl Matters Organization as part of the follow-up and support of the development projects we are implementing.

This visit was a valuable opportunity to present the results of our activities and share our field experience, particularly through the project “Amazigh Girls 4 Digi Green”, implemented within the framework of the Amal Program. The project aims to empower Amazigh girls through digital inclusion and green economy awareness, strengthening their capacities and supporting their role in building a more sustainable future.

During the visit, we also highlighted the various initiatives led by the association to support youth and women, promote innovation, and contribute to inclusive local development, especially in rural areas.

We sincerely thank our partners for their trust and continuous support, and we look forward to further strengthening our collaboration to create a meaningful and lasting impact for Amazigh girls and rural communities. 🌱

Honored to attend a special Ftour hosted by H.E. Robert Dölger, Ambassador of the Germany to Morocco, bringing together alumni of various Morocco-Germany partnership programs.

This meaningful gathering during the month of Ramadan was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with inspiring changemakers and exchange experiences within the alumni network.

I was especially proud to share insights from my experience within the CrossCulture Programme and present the work and vision of our association, Amazigh Girl Matters, which is committed to empowering Amazigh girls and promoting inclusive leadership.

Moments like this remind us of the importance of intercultural dialogue, collaboration, and collective action to create positive change.

🌍✨ Celebrating International Women’s Day ✨🌍

On this International Women’s Day, we proudly celebrate the women who believe in change, solidarity, and the power of collective action. Today, we would like to highlight and express our deep gratitude to «  Macharia Jacqueline « , one of the inspiring leaders who supported the vision of Amazigh Girl Matters from the very beginning.

It is often difficult for a small NGO based in a rural area to find people who truly believe in its mission and potential. Jacqueline was one of those rare individuals who trusted our vision and encouraged us to grow. Through her guidance, encouragement, and strong international professional network, she helped propel our association toward meaningful, sustainable development initiatives.

Thanks to Jacqueline’s support and commitment, Amazigh Girl Matters became a strategic partner of the Pawanka Fund in North Africa. Her efforts contributed to securing three Pawanka Fund grants, which strengthened our programs and deepened our impact on the lives of girls and women.

Today, we are also pleased to announce our new co-funded project with the Pawanka Fund:

🌱 « Amazigh Girls for Digi-Green »

This initiative is implemented in collaboration with Migration & Development and AFD, and aims to promote digital inclusion and green economy opportunities for girls and young women.

We also want to highlight that Jacqueline represents IFAD programs across Africa, and her recent visit opened valuable and possible fundraising opportunities for collaboration and cooperations.

We celebrate not only a day, but a movement — women supporting women across continents. Thank you, Jacqueline, for believing in our mission and walking this journey with us.

💜 Together, we empower girls, strengthen communities, and build a more inclusive future.
