The Legation is a great place to sit and sketch and we love chatting with passing artists about what brought them to the Legation. This American artist had come to Morocco to visit her Peace corps volunteer child, and was delighted to share her discovery of Morocco through her drawings.

We were delighted to welcome to the Legation today the Stevens Initiative Alumni Academy, which brought 33 alumni of virtual exchanges from the United States and the Middle East and North Africa to Rabat for a week.

Created in partnership with the family of U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, the Stevens Initiative seeks to give young people the kind of meaningful international experiences that shaped the late Ambassador Stevens’ own life and career in diplomacy.

It was especially meaningful to host the group at the Legation, where Ambassador Stevens spent summers during his Peace Corps service in Morocco volunteering in the Peace Corps General Library.
