At the recently concluded African Development Bank Group Annual Meetings ( ) in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo, the Secretary-General of the Pan-African Youth Union, Bening Ahmed Wiisichong called on African governments to:

👉Treat youth development as a strategic investment for national transformation.

👉He urged governments to dismantle barriers to intra-African mobility under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), arguing that cumbersome visa requirements continued to restrict opportunities for young entrepreneurs seeking to expand across borders.

👉Respect young people and their institutions, ensuring they serve national and continental development objectives rather than narrow political interests.

He also encouraged the African Development Bank to deepen its engagement with young people directly, ensuring that development interventions are visible, inclusive and responsive to the aspirations of Africa’s largest demographic group.

Tomorrow — 1 day to go

Africa is the youngest continent on earth. That comes with a lot of promise, but also real pressures that young people navigate every day, often without enough information or support.

Tomorrow's webinar on Sexual and Reproductive Health is a chance to hear directly from youth leaders who are living these realities. Six countries, six voices:
Botswana 🇧🇼, Zimbabwe 🇿🇼, Cameroon 🇨🇲, Djibouti 🇩🇯, Malawi 🇲🇼 and Ethiopia 🇪🇹.

Join us for an honest conversation about what's working, what isn't, and where young people want things to go.
