A day of learning, connection, and empowerment 🤍✨

Camp Alima was honored to partner with High Atlas Foundation for a workshop bringing together young women to learn, grow, and inspire one another. Campers teamed up with HAF volunteers to experience one of HAF’s community workshops, reflected on leadership and women’s empowerment, learned more about Camp Alima, and ended the day by mapping their dreams, identifying their strengths, and challenging the barriers they believe stand in their way.

Thank you to the High Atlas Foundation, our volunteers, alumni, and campers for making this collaboration so meaningful!

2026 Camper Spotlights: Hiba El Ghali from Errachidia 🌟

Hiba’s favorite day was Computer Science, building and programming Arduino and working through the challenges that came with it. She also enjoyed the evening activities and an environment where she never felt afraid to ask questions!

2026 Camper Spotlights: Sophia Chakir from Agadir 🌟

Sophia left Camp Alima calling it the best experience she’s ever had! Medicine Day was her favorite. It was the first time she’d ever gotten a real look inside the field, and it made her feel like a medical student. By the end of the week she had expanded her vocabulary, deepened her STEM knowledge, built leadership skills, and found a room full of people who share similar mindsets.

2026 Camper Spotlights: Manal El Hamraoui from Marrakech 🌟

Physics Day was Manal’s favorite. Campers spent the day exploring wave interference through three experiments: sound, water, and light, including a double slit experiment to observe how light behaves as a wave!

Next up for 2026 Camper Spotlights: Aya Raho from Casablanca 🌟

For Aya, what made Medicine Day her favorite wasn’t just the clinical mindset, it was the teamwork. Collaborating with her peers to solve medical case studies under pressure pushed her problem-solving and communication in ways she didn’t expect. When the English immersion got challenging, she didn’t step back. She started asking clarifying questions, summarizing her team’s main points, and making sure everyone was aligned.

“This not only pushed my language confidence to the next level but also taught me that active listening is a massive part of effective leadership…The hands-on simulations, especially Medicine Day, were incredibly inspiring and really highlighted the power of youth collaboration.”

Kicking off our 2026 Camper Spotlights with Lina Zzouitine from Larache 🌟

Lina has always been fascinated by medicine. At Camp Alima she got a full day of it. Renal system, kidney dissection, a live panel with women working in the field. She left wanting to pursue it further!

Day 4: Computer Science đź’»

Campers explored the world of programming by learning how to use an Arduino UNO to build an automatic night light! They learned the basics of programming, wired their own circuits, and wrote code to bring their projects to life. Campers explored how technology can be used to solve real-world problems.

Campers also spent time preparing their final presentations, reflecting on everything they’ve learned throughout Camp Alima. Stay tuned for our final day!
