Camp Alima Camp Alima is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing STEM and leadership skills of high-school-aged Moroccan girls.

As a student-run initiative, we provide a week-long immersive experience where participants engage in hands-on learning and mentorship.

Day 4: Computer Science 💻

Campers explored the world of programming by learning how to use an Arduino UNO to build an automatic night light! They learned the basics of programming, wired their own circuits, and wrote code to bring their projects to life. Campers explored how technology can be used to solve real-world problems.

Campers also spent time preparing their final presentations, reflecting on everything they’ve learned throughout Camp Alima. Stay tuned for our final day!

Day 3: Medicine 🩺💙

❗️Trigger warning: dissection + sharp items

Campers explored the renal system and learned how the kidneys keep our bodies running behind the scenes. They then put their knowledge into practice through a kidney dissection, getting a hands-on look at the anatomy they had just studied.

The afternoon shifted from medicine to professional development, with campers learning how to write professional emails, strengthen their resumes, build LinkedIn profiles, and confidently showcase their experiences and skills. Future doctors, researchers, and leaders in the making!

Campers explored environmental science and water treatment, learned about women leading the way in STEM, and put their engineering skills to the test by designing their own water filtration systems. Between hands-on experiments, teamwork challenges, and getting to know one another, it was a day full of learning, problem-solving, and new connections 💙
