MAM is an artist meeting for 20 performance artists from Morocco and rest of the World. The meeting is happening from the 7.04 - 20.04 in Marrakech, Morocco. And from the 21.04 to 27.04, a smaller group will travel in the countryside and work with local habitants. During this time all the artists will live, work, experiment, and exchange together to create a temporary art collective in Marrakech.
MAM offers a frame for artists to exchange their work and to enter a cross-cultural dialogue. MAM works as a collective where shared responsibility and self-organization of every single artist will support the exchange and the creative process. Everybody should independently offer something to exchange such as ideas, training, research, physical practices, thoughts, approaches, experiments, experience, curiosity…
Therefore everyone is responsible for the development of the meeting. Through the communication different working groups can occur and choose to work separately in a smaller group on a specific idea or use the studios collectively. Some groups can also work in the public space, respecting the circumstances of each individual place and its context. All participants meet daily in a studio to start the day together and make collective choices for the daily schedule and for the development of the meeting. All participants from outside of Marrakech will live in a simple Riad in the old city of Marrakech. There is a cooking team, which will prepare a warm meal once a day. There is no budget to offer breakfast and lunch. This shared meal will be taken together with the all-embracing community. Because of the financial nature of this meeting, participants are encouraged to ask for financial support in their respective countries.
