Dans un monde déjà fracturé par les guerres et les crises politiques, une autre menace progresse plus silencieusement, la montée de la haine antimusulmane. À l’occasion de la Journée internationale de lutte contre l’islamophobie, l’ONU lance un avertissement appuyé contre une vague mondiale de discrimination visant les deux milliards de musulmans de la planète.

« Nous sommes confrontés à une montée de l’intolérance et de la haine antimusulmanes », a déploré lundi le Secrétaire général de l’ONU, António Guterres, lors d’une d’une réunion à l’Assemblée générale sur la question. Cette hostilité prend selon lui des formes multiples : « discrimination institutionnelle, marginalisation socio-économique, restrictions migratoires généralisées, surveillance et profilage injustifiés ».

🔵 The systematic integration of sextortion into scams
🔵 The use of specialized money laundering groups
🔵 The globalization of trafficking-fuelled scam centres

The good news? Law enforcement authorities are collaborating more effectively.

يستغلّ المتحرشون نفس المساحات الرقمية التي تربطنا، مثل وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي وتطبيقات الدردشة والألعاب الإلكترونية، لاستدراج الأطفال أو التلاعب بهم أو إكراههم، غالبًا دون الكشف عن هويتهم.
تُعدّ اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة بشأن الجرائم الإلكترونية أول اتفاقية عالمية تُعالج هذا التهديد تحديدًا.
بتجريم الاستدراج الإلكتروني، تُوفّر الاتفاقية للحكومات قوانين أقوى وتعاونًا عبر الحدود لحماية الأطفال من الإيذاء أو الاستغلال في جميع أنحاء العالم.

The same digital spaces that connect us like social media, chat apps and online games are exploited by predators to groom, manipulate or coerce children, often anonymously.

The United Nations Convention on Cybercrime is the first global agreement to specifically address this threat.

By criminalizing online grooming, it provides governments with stronger laws and cross-border cooperation to protect children against abuse or exploitation worldwide.
