Winners of the National Visual Arts Competition 2026

The results are in! We're so happy to share the winners of this year's National Visual Arts Competition, organized by the American Cultural Association.

Currents are everywhere in the world around us: people on the move, information flowing faster than ever, social and cultural shifts reshaping communities, environmental change redefining landscapes. And looking back at art pieces submitted to previous competitions organized by the ACA, currents and change kept showing up in the work even when they weren't the focus so it felt like something that felt both inevitable and necessary to choose this year as a theme. It was also fascinating to see how this year's participants, especially our winners. Each found their own way into the theme through different interpretations and mediums.

One of the awardees from last year’s editions, .os, has a little message for you!

This competition for emerging artists residing in Morocco gives you the opportunity to have your art displayed during an exhibition in May, at the American Arts Center.

This year’s theme, “Currents,” invites you to explore the flows and shifts that shape our world; whether they appear as waves and waterways, migrations and journeys, cultural and social movements, or the inner tides of personal transformation.

🖌 Open to everyone ; all mediums and styles welcome.

📜 Include a short statement (150–200 words) about your artwork, process, and the ideas behind it.

Congratulations to MedArts, Battle of the Bands semi-finalist representing Casablanca!

MedArts is a band born between lecture halls and late-night study sessions at the FMPC. Future doctors and pharmacists who simply love making music together, they turn dedication and hard work into rhythm and harmony. Comprised of Inesse Moussaid (vocals), Yassine El Oidrhiri (piano), Nizar Aniba (guitar), and Michee Kalangoso (drums), the band blends different backgrounds, cultures, and stories - united by the power of music. Their slogan: med by heart, led by art!

Catch MedArts live as they take the semi-final stage of the Battle of the Bands on Thursday, January 22nd at 7 PM.

Hailing from Taroudant, Yassine Riad does it all! He is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist whose music blends energy, emotion, and personal storytelling. Whether performing solo or with a band, he transforms every stage into a space for connection, expression, and shared experience. With past performances at festivals like Sun Festival in Marrakech and Talguit’art in Agadir, as well as live shows across restaurants and hotels in Agadir, Marrakech, and Taroudant, Yassine brings both passion and professionalism to every note.

موضوع هذا العام هو "تيارات " .انتما مدعوين باش تستكشفوا التدفقات والحركية اللي كتشكل وكتطبع عالمنا، سواء كانت موجات او ممرات ماء او هجرات او اسفار او تيارات ثقافية او اجتماعية، وحتى حالات مد وجزر وتحول على المستوى الشخصي.
التيارات يمكن تكون هادئة و يمكن تكون قوية وجارفة، يمكن تكون باينة ويمكن تكون خفية. التيارات كتربط فيما بيننا، و كتتحدانا، وكتقودنا لفضاءات جديدة.
ندعوكم باش تقومو عبر الفن ديالكم الى تاويل هذه التحركات والتيارات بطريقتكم والى إعطاء شكلٍ للطاقات اللي كتدفع بهذا التغيرات في حياتنا و في مجتمعاتنا.

📢Calling all artists in Morocco

The National Visual Arts Competition 2026 is now open! This year’s theme, “Currents,” invites you to explore the flows and shifts that shape our world; whether they appear as waves and waterways, migrations and journeys, cultural and social movements, or the inner tides of personal transformation.

Currents can be gentle or powerful, visible or unseen. They connect us, challenge us, and carry us into new spaces. Through your art, we invite you to interpret these movements in your own way and give form to the energies that guide change in our lives and communities.
