ERHAM Erham in Arabic means 'Take Pity' or 'Be Compassionate'. Our main focus is sterilisation.

We have such a heartwarming relationship with (most of) the sellers in the souk enroute to the rubbish tip. They so appreciate the sterilisation work we do and often help us catch the cats, pointing out which ones are next! This time we enlisteded them to try to help us catch the people who bring kittens to the dump and abandon them there. Zahira and I gave out leaflets to encourage their help. Somehow we have to make this heartless behaviour stop!!

ANGEL (Apricot tripod) found with a horrendous leg injury. FOSSIE.(long haired tabby) rescued with a serious wound and infection on her back. SAMMY. Dumped outside my house at 3 weeks old with 3 others and needed bottle feeding. ERHAM. PS. Angel and Sammy are looking for UK homes!

5 MORE CATS STERILISED! It's amazing to walk through the souks to the rubbish tip and find it difficult to catch more female cats to sterilise...... they haven't dissapeared...... they're all ear tipped and already done! We',re getting there, at least in some areas.... but this spells achievement and we thank you all for your support!

Update on the Railway cat. The X-ray shows her leg is broken in 2 places but with emergency surgery wecan save her leg. She'll then spend a long period of recovery time with us in the ERHAM house for disabled cats. Yet another poor cat needs our help. Zahira received a call yesterdayvfrom the Railway station where we sterilise and feed the cats. This poor girl either has a broken leg, spine or both. She's been given pain killers and Zahira transported her to the ERHAM house for disabled and recovering where she'll be observed for a few days. She'll at least be safe, fed, receive painkillers and be cared for until we can arrange for an x-ray to see what's going on. Please donate to help us help her. Thank you to all of you who do!

6 MORE CATS STERILISED! Fatiha is another Azemmour Kittie Angel. ERHAM helps by sterilising the female cats in the colonies where she feeds. We love it that local people now ask for Fatiha for help with sterilising the local street cats who are constantly having kittens. It's wonderful that many people in the local community believe in sterilisation and ask for help. Its also why we are so grateful to those who help us! Please donate when you can.

Th condition of many street cats in Azemmour is heartbreaking. We treat so many for mange and parasites..... malnutrition too, and when they're well enough, sterilisation is SO beneficial. Local people are often amazed by the transformation..... Let's hope this poor boy has a speedy recovery too now he's been treated with Panacure and Bravecto and is also fed on the street daily now. Please donate when you can. So many more animals need our help!

This is why we sterilise. Heartless people bring unwanted kittens to the rubbish tip under the cover of night and sneak away without a conscience. Why dont they just sterilised their cats! We would help them but they'd prefer to let the kittens suffer.

A new sign to try to stop people dumping kittens on the rubbish tip. The problem started years ago, long before ERHAM formed in Azemmour, but we had to help. The place was so desperate. It reads:

WE DO NOT WANT YOUR KITTENS
They can DIE here
STOP Killing Kittens
Please let us sterilise your female cats
It is the only way to stop the suffering
