Adoption Report - Porridge

„January 2024 we went to collect a husky (Lucy).
Visiting the shelter my mum fell in love with porridge a three legged shepherd.
We returned to the UK and decided we were in a position to help another dog and that we wanted it to be porridge.
We know it is not cheap to get a dog out of Morocco but we wanted to commit to Porridge.
Although porridge looked healthy I felt she was shut down.
I had videos of her from 10 months previous sat in the same corner.
We knew of the founders pulling adoptions whenever people didn’t agree with them or raised concerns.
My husband had said something to an ex co worker. Information made it back to the co founders.
We explained it didn’t matter what we thought. That there were bigger things going on at the rescue. Our opinion didn’t matter. But to them it did so we were honest what we thought about the way they treated staff, our welfare concerns regarding the dogs.
We were told that adopting Porridge wasn’t an option and they wouldn’t work with us to get her out.
People don’t always get along, that’s fine.
But why should a dog loose the chance of getting to a good home, just because people can’t put their differences aside. We promised we wouldn’t see porridge miss this opportunity.
Six weeks from being ‚stolen‘ from the shelter we received a video of porridge running around- looking happy
We can’t wait to get her home and are at peace she is well cared for until then.
You should be ashamed of yourselves for denying any dogs an opportunity like this.“

EMERGENCY APPEAL ‼️ £15000 NEEDED TO SAVE 500 DOGS.

SO FAR 19 DOGS HAVE BEEN RESCUED AND ARE SAFE AND HEALING .

We are a team of people and registered associations who have come together to do our best to ensure the rescue, safety, and relocation of up to 500 dogs from the previous “care” of the now non existent charity MAA ( Morroco Animal Aid ) in the Area of Aourir , Agadir , Morocco

The founders of MAA have been banned from Morocco for various reasons and the situation for the animals is now critical.

The Authorities have made it clear that the animals must be removed .

The animals have endured needless suffering.

We want to put an end to this consistent cycle of neglect .

WITH YOUR SUPPORT WE CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN AND GIVE THESE DOGS A SAFE NEW PLACE AND A REAL CHANCE OF A BETTER LIFE AND A FUTURE WITH PROPER CARE ❤️

The money donated will go directly to MAWSS (Moroccan Animal Welfare Support Souss )
A legal uk charity that funds and works with Moroccan charities direct on the ground .
They will facilitate the funds and the success of this Emergency Rescue to ensure the dogs reach a new home

It is with heavy hearts that we must tell you that yesterday Muna passed away.

By the time Muna was rescued and brought to SARA shelter, her health was in dire state. Muna suffered from leishmaniasis and when this is left for too long without being properly treated, it can cause severe internal damages, which unfortunately is irreversible and left Muna with limited time.

Even though SARA did everything in their power to give her the best care and treatment that she deserved, it was just too late to save her from the damage MAA had already inflicted.

It is truly devastating.
We wish we would have rescued her sooner.
We wish she had received the treatment she needed at MAA.
But more than anything, we really wish we could have saved her and given her a happier future.

The one thing we are grateful for is that in her final days she experienced nothing but love and comfort, and for this we can’t thank SARA enough.

We will always remember Muna.
Now she can rest in peace ❤️🌈
