About the Libyan Youth forum

In order to better understand the history of the Libyan Youth Forum one must revisit the triggers and aims of the February 17th revolution. It was not unheard that the Youth in Libya were neglected as a result they lacked skills, opportunities, freedoms and exercising basic human rights. Moreover

, to make matters worse Libya as a state was corrupted, lacked
accountability and crimes and atrocities were committed against the Libyan people by the Gadaffi regime. It was on February 17th that the youth of Libya could not remain silenced and the youth revolution of Libya was born. In the tens of thousands the youth both male and female executed a number of activities both online using mediums such as face book and twitter and on the ground to execute on humanitarian, press and military activities to rid Libya of the darkness of the Gadaffi regime and open up the light of Justice, Security, Freedom, Democracy, Prosperity on its future. The Libyan Youth Forum was first initiated as a coalition between the Libyan Youth Movement, Libya Hurra Live Stream and the Libyan Link whom had collectively over 150,000 thousand supporters during the revolution and were active world wide on the web, on the television screens and on the battle grounds as fighters and humanitarian workers. Through its work and results strong networks and credibility were built with press, Governments, the NTC and most importantly the Libyan people. The Founders of the Libyan Youth Forum understood well that the Gadaffi
regimes end was the start of a new battle. A battle where the enemy is invisible and it includes ourselves, a battle where the importance of unity, education, debate, organisation, civil initiatives are keys to success. Thus the Libyan Youth Forum was born to unite the youth groups and youth across Libya. Today the Libyan Youth Forum is made up of several major independent youth-led groups, it has emerged as an organization committed to promote the nascent civil society in Libya. Our Vision
