CEFA in Libya implements projects aiming at environmental conservation, promoting the sustainable use of resources and communities' resilience to climate change. We provide support to communities through actions in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), as well as solid waste management (SWM), promoting awareness and behavioural change for the adoption of sustainable practices.

تحت مشروع "التضامن"، عملت CEFA بالتعاون مع فريق الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي (PSS) لتقديم الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي للأشخاص المتضررين من عاصفة دانيال في بلديات درنة، البيضاء، بنغازي، وطرابلس، حيث وصلت إلى عدد 900 من الأفراد من خلال جلسات الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي الفردية والجماعية، والأنشطة الترفيهية، وتدريب العناية بالدعم النفسي الأولي.
على الرغم من التأثيرات الكبيرة للطوارئ، واجه فريق الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي قصصًا مليئة بالأمل والصمود، بما في ذلك قصة أب يعول خمسة أطفال فقد منزله وعمله، ويكافح لتلبية احتياجات عائلته. قام الفريق بزيارات متعددة للعائلة لمساعدتهم على التغلب على التأثيرات النفسية للطوارئ وقدم معدات صغيرة للأب لاستئناف عمله كحلاق. نحن ممتنون لهذه الفرصة لتحقيق تأثير إيجابي على حياة الناس خلال مثل هذه الأوقات الصعبة.

Under the Tadamun project, CEFA partnered with the PSS Team to provide psychosocial support to those affected by in the municipalities of Derna, AlBayda, Benghazi, and Tripoli, reaching around 900 individuals individuals through PSS individual and group sessions, recreational activities, and PFA training.
Despite the significant impacts of the emergency, the PSS Team encountered stories of hope and resilience, including that of a father of 5 children who had lost his home and livelihood, struggling to provide for his family's needs. The team conducted several visits to the family to help them overcome the psychological effects of the emergency and provided small equipment to the father to resume his work as a barber. We're grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives during such difficult times.

الدعم النفسي (PSS) هو جزء أساسي في استجابة الطوارئ.
في إطار مشروع (تضامن - Tadamun)، تقوم CEFA، بالشراكة مع فريق الدعم النفسي، بدعم السكان المتضررين من في بلديات درنة، بنغازي، البيضاء، وطرابلس. يقوم فريق من العاملين الاجتماعيين والنفسيين والمتطوعين بتنفيذ جلسات جماعية وفردية، ودورات للإسعاف النفسي، وأنشطة ترفيهية، وفعاليات توعوية تشمل الكبار والأطفال.

Psychological support (PSS) is a fundamental component in the emergency response.
In the framework of the project Tadamun, CEFA, in partnership with PSS Team, is supporting the population affected by in the municipalities of Derna, Benghazi, Al Bayda and Tripoli. A team of social workers, psychologists and volunteers are conducting group and individual sessions, psychological first aid courses (PFA), recreational activities and awareness-raising events involving both adults and children.

للإستجابة للحالة الطارئة التي تسببت فيها في شمال شرق ليبيا، تدعم منظمة CEFA السكان المتضررين للاستجابة لاحتياجاتهم الأساسية، مقدمة المساعدات الحيوية ودعم الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي. في 31 من شهر يناير، قدمت آخر توزيعاتنا دعماً للنازحين بسبب الإعصار الذين استقروا في مناطق مختلفة في طرابلس، حيث قدمت 67 حزمة نظافة و67 حزمة غذائية، تغطي الاحتياجات الشهرية لـ 320 شخصاً في أماكن إقامتهم . في الفترة القادمة، سيواصل فريق CEFA التنسيق مع السلطات المعنية والفاعلين الإنسانيين لدعم السكان المتضررين.

In response to the emergency caused by in the northeast of Libya, the CEFA organization supports the affected population to address their basic needs, providing life-saving assistance and psychosocial support. On the 31st of January, our latest distribution supported the displaced due to the hurricane who settled in various areas of Tripoli, providing 67 hygiene kits and 67 food kits, covering the monthly needs of 320 people in their places of residence. In the upcoming period, the CEFA team will continue to coordinate with the relevant authorities and humanitarian actors to support the affected populations.

تحت مشاريع دعم بلديات الجنوب من أجل تحسين تقديم الخدمات الأساسية، قامت منظمة شيفاCEFA مؤخرًا بتنفيذ تدريب لبناء القدرات حول إدارة النفايات الصلبة SWM في بلديات العوينات وبراك الشاطئ وقطرون. شمل التدريب، الذي تضمن جلسات نظرية وعملية، 58 متدربا من بين مسؤولي البلديات في مكاتب البيئة والصحة ومكاتب النظافة العامة، وممثلي الجامعات ومنظمات المجتمع المدني.

Under the interventions in support of municipalities of the South for the amelioration of basic services delivery, CEFA recently implemented a capacity building training on solid waste management (SWM) in AlAwinat, Brak AlShati, and Qatroun. The training, which included theoretical and on-the-job sessions, involved 58 trainees among municipal officials from the environment and sanitation offices, the public hygiene offices, universities' and CSOs' representatives. CEFA extended its support to the Municipalities of , , and to improve the accessibility, quality, and inclusivity of basic services, providing the municipal authorities with technical assistance.

The activity was conducted in the framework of the project "Social Dialogue for Environment - SDE", funded by the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation (AICS).

الأسبوع الماضي، اجتمع فريق منظمة CEFA سبها، والمجلس البلدي #تجرهي لمناقشة وتحديد الاحتياجات الرئيسية لتطوير تدخلات محتملة تهدف إلى تحسين تقديم الخدمات الأساسية وجعلها أكثر شمولية.
قامت الفرق من الطرفين بإجراء تقييم مشترك للاحتياجات وزارت المرافق والبنى التحتية العامة داخل البلدية.

Last week, the CEFA Sebha Team and the Municipality of Tajarhi met to discuss and identify key needs for the development of possible interventions aimed at better and more inclusive basic service delivery. The teams jointly conduct the need assessment and visited public facilities and infrastructure.

نفّذت CEFA، بالتعاون مع منظمة تامزاوا Tamzawa، حملة توعية حديثة لزيادة الوعي بحماية البيئة وتعزيز تبني ممارسات التخلص من النفايات الصلبة بشكل مستدام و صحي.

شارك طلاب ومعلمون من عدة مدارس ابتدائية في العوينات وبراك الشاطئ وقطرون في ورش عمل وأنشطة تعزز إعادة استخدام النفايات وتقليلها وإعادة تدويرها. كما تعاونت منظمة تامزاوا منظمة تامزاوا - Tamzawa مع نشطاء من جنوب ليبيا لإطلاق حملة عبر الإنترنت لتوعية المجتمعات بالتأثير السلبي والغير صحي لممارسات إدارة النفايات الصلبة.

Join our efforts for cleaner municipalities in the South of Libya!

CEFA, in collaboration with منظمة تامزاوا - Tamzawa, recently implemented an awareness campaign to raise awareness on environmental protection and to promote the adoption of sustainable and healthy solid waste disposal practices.

Students and teachers from several primary schools in AlAwinat, Brak AlShati, and Qatroun were involved in workshops and activities promoting waste reuse, reduction, and recycling. Tamzawa also collaborated with influencers from the south of Libya, launching an online campaign to sensitize communities on the negative impact of unhealthy solid waste management practices.

The activities are implemented within our effort to support municipalities to improve basic services delivery, under the project “Social Dialogue for Environment - SDE”, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).

Discover the Social Dialogue for Environment project!

Did you know that CEFA is supporting the Municipalities of Brak AlShati, AlAwinat, and Qatroun in the South of Libya? Our goal is to enhance access, quality, and inclusivity of basic services, particularly solid waste collection. We provide technical assistance and essential resources to municipal authorities, empowering them to improve waste management services.
In August, we collaborated closely with the target municipalities and distributed approximately 160 waste containers and personal protective equipment for waste operators, ensuring safer and more efficient operations.

This impactful initiative is part of the "Social Dialogue for Environment - SDE" project funded by the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation (AICS) under the LRRD program. It focuses on training and capacity building for Municipal technical officials in Libya.
