Latvijas Kendo Federācija LKF mērķis – attīstīt Latvijas iedzīvotājos izpratni par Kendo (Japānas paukošanas mākslu).

Latvijas Kendo federācija (LKF) ir Eiropas Kendo federācijas (European Kendo federation, EKF) un Starptautiskās Kendo federācijas (International Kendo federation, IKF) dalībniece, kā arī ir Latvijas Sporta federācijas padomes (LSFP) atzīta sporta federācija. Līdz ar to LKF ir vienīgā valstiski un starptautiski atzītā organizācija Latvijā, kurai ir tiesības vadīt un koordīnet darbu Kendo, Iaido un Jodo, kā arī ir piešķirtas ekskluzīvas tiesības rīkot Latvijas čempionātus šajos sporta veidos.

On February 14, members of the Latvian Kendo Federation participated in the Iron Wolf Kendo Cup 2026 tournament, organized by our friends from the Lithuanian club Iron Wolf Kendo Club (Kendo club Geležinis Vilkas).

We express our deepest gratitude to all participants and organizers for an excellently hosted competition! 🙌✨

We highly value our cooperation and friendship between countries and will gladly continue to support and strengthen it in the future!

Denis Arsenin Sensei (6th Dan Renshi) and Vladimir Kindzulis (6th dan) served as shinpans at the Iron Wolf Kendo Cup 2026.

Representatives of the Latvian Kendo Federation, Denis Arsenin and Vladimir Kindzulis, took part in the FIK / EKF Referee Seminar, held in Brussels.

Their participation in the seminar was intended to further develop refereeing competencies, enhance understanding of the current rules and officiating standards, and ensure continued alignment with the international requirements and recommendations of FIK and EKF.

On October 11–12, 2025, the Māmeido Kendo Cup was held in Warsaw, with many of our athletes participating.

The Māmeido Cup stands out from typical tournaments due to its Swiss-system format, which offers significant benefits. It guarantees all participants 11–13 fights over the weekend, ensuring an equal number of matches for everyone.

The tournament featured 122 male and 51 female participants competing in the following categories:

Men’s Open
Women’s Open
Youth (15–24)
Senior (40+)
Kyu grade
1–3 Dan grade

Jānis Galdiņš excelled, securing 5th place in the Men’s Open category among 122 competitors.
Denis Arseņins competed in both the Men’s Open and Senior categories, finishing 19th in the former and earning an impressive 2nd place in the latter.

Our female athletes also performed strongly. Silena Gromova earned 4th place in the Women’s Open category among 51 competitors.
Our junior girls shone in their first major competition, with Polina Kosireva finishing 9th out of 17 in the Youth category and Sofja Sergejeva securing 4th out of 7 in the Kyu category.

Congratulations to all our athletes on their outstanding achievements!

This experience boosted our motivation and spirit to continue developing kendo and preparing athletes for the international level.

Participation in such a high-level competition was only possible with significant support from the Riga City Council.
