🇪🇪🇱🇹🇱🇻Today, the annual Conference of the Baltic Assembly and the Baltic Council of Ministers is taking place in Tallinn, Estonia!
Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Baltic Assembly, the discussions are focusing on building resilient Baltic States and their 35 years of collective action in international and regional affairs.
➡️During the opening session Timo Suslov, President of the Baltic Assembly, highlighted that over these 35 years, the Baltic Assembly has become a symbol of what can be achieved when countries are united by common values and purpose. “Together, we have demonstrated that resilience means the ability to adapt, support each other, and act together in the face of uncertainty,” he emphasised.
➡️H.E. Arvo Aller, Second Vice-President of the Riigikogu, stated that today’s discussion addresses issues that concern all - security threats, disinformation, and others. Close cooperation and exchange of information with partners is important. It is also important that these issues are discussed here at the political level.
➡️H.E. Margus Tsahkna, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, stated that in 1991, nobody believed the Baltic States would become full members of the EU and NATO, however, they made it possible. Now, resilience must be the core topic. Additionally, focus should also be put on the value of democracy and keeping Baltic societies united as it has proved to be a target.
