On 9 September, a full house at the Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel brought together members and guests of AHK Baltikum , AmCham Latvia, BritCham Latvia, Norwegian chamber of commerce in Latvia and Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia for the joint pre-election debate "Latvia at a Crossroads".

Moderated by Vladlens Kovaļevs, representatives of seven political parties debated Latvia’s security, human capital, competitiveness, business environment and ability to attract foreign investment. It was the hottest day of the autumn — and at times, the temperature rose inside the debate hall too!

Thank you to all candidates, organisers, partners and guests for a lively and important discussion ahead of the Saeima elections.

What a fun Saturday in Sigulda! 🎉

For the third year in a row, the BritCham Charity Fund was delighted to take part in the Highlander Games organised by the charity Biedrība "Cerību spārni"

Our traditional sack races once again brought plenty of laughter, as visitors jumped their way to the finish line in BritCham Charity Fund sacks!

We are especially grateful to Mr Kully Singh, who represented the BritCham Charity Fund together with his family and enthusiastically cheered on all the competitors throughout the day.

A heartfelt thank you to all our donors for making our work possible, and to “Cerību spārni” for their tremendous dedication to supporting children and families.

🌶️ The BritCham 2026/2027 season is officially open!

What a wonderful evening we had at yesterday’s legendary Curry Cook-Off! The warm September weather was perfect for gathering on the terrace of SINGH’S and embracing the very pleasant responsibility of tasting ten fantastic curries—and voting for our favourite.

We are delighted to see the number of competing teams growing each year, bringing an ever-richer world of flavours to the event. A huge thank you and congratulations to every team that cooked for us!

Our judges—HMA Kathy Leach, Juris Žagars and Kully Singh—faced the challenging task of objectively selecting the three best curries in a blind tasting:

🥈 2nd place: Curraoke Kings—David P. Meadows and Wayne Pass
🥇 1st place: MADRASI—Rajkumar Kannan and Jona Priscilla Mahendran

For the second year in a row, the People’s Choice Award went to the Poynder family, with Johanna as their brilliant head chef! 👑

What an unforgettable evening celebrating 30 years of BritCham Latvia 🇬🇧✨
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us at the beautiful Kokaru Hall in Mežaparks to celebrate this special milestone together with the BritCham community — members past and present, friends, partners, colleagues and supporters who have all been part of the BritCham story over the years.

We were especially honoured that the orchestra, conducted by Andris Rasmanis, joined us to greet and celebrate together with the BritCham community. Their performance brought a truly special spark to the evening.

The weather felt beautifully summery, and the atmosphere in Mežaparks could not have been more perfect for celebrating an organisation that, over the years, has brought together so many wonderful people, colleagues, business partners and friendships.

A sincere thank you to His Majesty’s Ambassador Kathy Leach for her inspiring words and warm wishes for the future of UK–Latvia cooperation and the BritCham community.

Trudy and Juris Žagari guided us through the context of the last 30 years in Latvia and the United Kingdom — reflecting on how both countries and our societies have changed, and which moments and events have shaped our lives along the way.

We were also happy to hear memories from Sarah Bruce Jones and Rolands Blezurs, members of the very first BritCham board, who shared stories about the Chamber’s beginnings and the atmosphere of Latvia in the mid-1990s, when everything was only just beginning.

On 12 May, the BritCham community gathered for another wonderful Members’ Evening — one of the long-standing traditions of BritCham, designed to help members get to know each other better beyond the usual business setting.

This time, we had the pleasure of being hosted by one of our newest members, Mogotel Hotel Group, at the beautiful Wellton Riverside SPA Hotel in Riga.

The evening was warmly hosted by Laura Kārkliņa-Cimdiņa , Sales Director, together with her team, who introduced guests to the Mogotel Group portfolio, hospitality vision and the Riverside Spa Hotel experience.

BritCham members and partners enjoyed networking, welcome drinks, presentations, a hotel tour and the opportunity to connect in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We were also pleased to hear a presentation from new member Paul Boyd who is developing a private music school in Riga.

At BritCham, we strongly believe that good business relationships start with genuine human connections — and evenings like these are an important part of building the strong and welcoming community that BritCham is known for.
