European Association "World-Our Home" is happy to host the new volunteer from Turkiye! Pelinsu arrived on 4th June and started her project in Rezekne Social Center!

"My name is Pelinsu, and I am thrilled to join the team here in Latvia as an ESC volunteer!
Coming to Rēzekne is a massive and exciting step for me. I chose to participate in an ESC project because I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, experience different cultures and places, and connect with people from all over the world. For me, volunteering is the perfect bridge to share my own background while learning firsthand from others.
During my time here, I want to challenge myself to keep learning new things every day and grow both personally and professionally while helping people in their lives. I am eager to improve my foreign language skills and communication, discover new languages, develop strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities while also learning to be more independent.
I’m truly grateful for this opportunity to explore beautiful Latvia, contribute to our community, and make meaningful connections that cross borders. I can’t wait to see what this amazing journey brings!"

No 25. jūnija līdz 4. jūlijam 9 jaunieši un grupas vadītāja Anna Marija Marčenko no Rēzeknes piedalījās Erasmus+ starptautiskajā jauniešu apmaiņā “Mind the Feed” Kauņā (Lietuva), kuru organizēja biedrība “Go Forward LT” sadarbībā ar partnerorganizāciju European Association “World Our Home”.

Deviņu aktivitāšu dienu laikā dalībnieki kopā ar jauniešiem no dažādām Eiropas valstīm padziļināti pētīja mūsdienu digitālo vidi un tās ietekmi uz ikvienu no mums. Projekta laikā jaunieši analizēja, kā darbojas sociālo tīklu algoritmi un kā tie ietekmē saturu, ko redzam savās ziņu lentēs, diskutēja par mākslīgā intelekta iespējām un riskiem, dezinformāciju, propagandu, klikšķu virsrakstiem, manipulācijas metodēm un medijpratību.

Dalībnieki mācījās atšķirt uzticamus informācijas avotus no nepatiesas informācijas, pārbaudīt faktus, atpazīt manipulācijas internetā un kritiski izvērtēt saturu, ar kuru saskaras ikdienā. Ar debatēm, simulācijām, grupu darbiem un praktiskiem uzdevumiem viņi attīstīja kritisko domāšanu, argumentēšanas prasmes, publisko runu, komandas darbu un spēju pieņemt pārdomātus lēmumus digitālajā vidē.

Projekta laikā katra valsts sagatavoja arī savu izglītojošo aktivitāti pārējiem dalībniekiem. Latvijas komanda vadīja nodarbības par algoritmiem, filtrburbuļiem (filter bubbles) un atbalss kamerām (echo chambers), kā arī organizēja debates par influenceru atbildību un informācijas izplatīšanu sociālajos tīklos.🇱🇻

Taču Erasmus+ projekti ir daudz vairāk nekā tikai mācības. ❤️ Katru vakaru International Evenings laikā dalībnieki iepazīstināja citus ar savas valsts kultūru, tradīcijām un nacionālajiem ēdieniem. Brīvajā laikā tika iepazīta Kauņa, veidotas jaunas draudzības un radītas atmiņas, kas noteikti paliks vēl ilgi pēc projekta noslēguma.

Šī pieredze vēlreiz apliecināja, ka mācīties var aizraujoši. Erasmus+ projekti sniedz ne tikai jaunas zināšanas un prasmes, bet arī iespēju pilnveidot angļu valodu, iepazīt dažādas kultūras, iegūt draugus no visas Eiropas un paskatīties uz pasauli no pavisam citas perspektīvas.

🌍 Mind the Feed brought together 45 young people from Lithuania, Cyprus, Romania, Bulgaria, and Latvia in Kaunas, Lithuania for an inspiring Erasmus+ Youth Exchange focused on media literacy and responsible digital citizenship. Project was organized in Kaunas, Lithuania from 25.06.2026 - 4.07.2026. European Association "World-Our Home" sent 10 participants from Latvia to this project.

Throughout the project, participants explored how to recognize misinformation, disinformation, propaganda, media bias, and the influence of social media algorithms. Through interactive workshops, simulations, discussions, intercultural learning, and practical activities, they developed essential skills to navigate today's complex digital information landscape.

💡 During the exchange, participants strengthened their:
✔️ Media and information literacy
✔️ Critical thinking and fact-checking skills
✔️ Digital responsibility and online safety awareness
✔️ Communication and teamwork skills
✔️ Intercultural understanding and cooperation
✔️ Confidence to become active, informed, and responsible digital citizens

Beyond gaining valuable knowledge and practical competences, the project created a space for young people from diverse backgrounds to build friendships, exchange cultures, and inspire one another to make a positive impact in their communities.

Together, participants learned to think critically before they clicked, shared, or believed. 🌐✨

🌍✨ European Association “World-Our Home” in Rēzekne - 1st June Celebration ✨🌍

On the 1st of June, the European Association “World-Our Home” took part in a joyful community event in Rēzekne, held at the beautiful Raiņa parks.

June 1st is celebrated worldwide as International Children’s Day. It is a special day that reminds us of the importance of children’s rights, safety and the shared responsibility of society to ensure the well-being and happiness of every child. 💛👧🧒

In Rēzekne, families gathered for festive activities to celebrate childhood and the beginning of summer, filling the park with joy, laughter and togetherness.

Our European Solidarity Corps volunteers from North Macedonia and Türkiye proudly represented their countries, sharing traditional food, culture and warm hospitality with visitors. 🌮🥙🌿 It was a wonderful opportunity to connect cultures, build friendships and celebrate diversity within the community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited our stand and shared this special day with us! 🌸

🌍 Youth Goals in Practice - Empowering Youth Across Europe!

From April 9–15, 2026, international seminar took place in Rēzekne, bringing together passionate youth workers, leaders, and changemakers from across Europe and beyond.

As part of the Erasmus+ programme, Seminar “Youth Goals in Practice” focused on turning the European Youth Goals into real, impactful actions in everyday youth work.

💡 Throughout the week, participants:
▪️ Explored the 11 European Youth Goals and their relevance today;
▪️ Shared best practices from different countries;
▪️ Took part in interactive workshops and peer-learning sessions;
▪️ Co-created tools and ideas to strengthen youth participation and inclusion;
▪️ Built meaningful international connections and future collaborations.

📅 On April 13, participants also took part in a special local event- Youth Inspiration and Cooperation Meeting, held at Austrumlatvijas radošo pakalpojumu centrs “Zeimuļs”.
During the event, participants:

The project brought together participants from Latvia, Croatia, Italy, Lithuania, Hungary, Georgia, North Macedonia, Moldova, Greece, and Türkiye, further enriching the international exchange.

🤝 The seminar highlighted the importance of active citizenship, democracy, solidarity, and youth empowerment, especially within the framework of European Youth Week.

🙏 Special thanks to our trainer Stanislavs Babins for his professionalism, guidance and inspiration throughout the project.

We also thank everyone involved in the organisation of the project, as well as our partner "Zeimuļs" Eastern Latvian creative service center “Zeimuļs” for hosting the local event and supporting this initiative.
