🇬🇧 Exchange and European cooperation were at the heart of a study visit by LEADER Wëlle Westen and LEADER Zentrum Westen to Upper Austria in June. 🇪🇺 🇦🇹

🤝The 7 transnational partners of the Slow Trips 3.0 project came together under the coordination of the Office régional de tourisme (ORT) Guttland for an intensive exchange.
🌱 During two joint workshops, the partners discussed the planned activities and agreed on the next steps for further cooperation within the project. Beyond the working sessions, the visit also offered plenty of inspiring insights into regional best-practice examples and sustainable tourism initiatives in the LEADER Region Urfahr West.

❤The warm welcome from our Austrian partners made the study visit a particularly memorable experience.

What is the Maltese National Network proud of for this year?

The Maltese National Network supported the Managing Authority with the training intervention carried out under the Rural Development Programme.

During the Malta Network meeting in December, beneficiaries who had taken part in the training and advice measures shared their experiences and presented what had been achieved through this support.

The meeting helped showcase the concrete value of training and advice for farmers, while giving beneficiaries the opportunity to exchange directly with other rural development stakeholders.

Thanks to these funds, a large number of farmers received training and advice, helping strengthen knowledge, skills and capacity across the agricultural sector.

What is the Estonian National Network proud of for this year?

In cooperation with the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps Agency’s Youth Programmes Centre, the Estonian National Network organised a series of seminars on youth engagement in Smart Villages.

The seminars explored the Smart Villages approach, introduced funding opportunities for youth activities through Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps, and shared inspiring practice stories to encourage action.

Each seminar also presented LEADER support options for youth projects, helping connect young people, rural actors and Local Action Groups with concrete opportunities.

Taking place in different locations across Estonia and online, the seminars targeted Smart Villages stakeholders, LEADER Local Action Groups and everyone interested in youth work.

🇫🇷 Chaos am Märcheland – un véritable succès à Kleinbettingen !

📱🦉 Que se passe-t-il lorsque de célèbres personnages de contes de fées se retrouvent soudainement plongés dans un monde moderne rempli de smartphones et de tablettes ? Les 27 et 28 juin 2026, la pièce pour enfants « Chaos am Märcheland » (Chaos au pays des contes) , présentée par l’association de théâtre Rido85 au Hispic à Kleinbettingen, a entraîné le public dans un amusant voyage à travers le temps.
La pièce a bénéficié du soutien de la région LEADER Zentrum Westen en tant que mini-projet, dans le cadre du projet-cadre « Culture et loisirs ». Cette initiative permet à plusieurs associations et organisations locales de réaliser facilement et sans lourdeur administrative des projets de petite envergure.

🎭 Pendant plusieurs semaines, une dizaine d'enfants ont préparé leur représentation avec la metteuse en scène Annette Wagner. Ils ont non seulement appris leur rôle, mais ont également participé activement, aux côtés de Romaine Neuen, à la création d’un décor plein de fantaisie.

🎟️ Face au grand succès, la pièce a été reprise quelques jours plus t**d devant plusieurs classes scolaires.

💪 Au-delà de l’offre culturelle proposée à la région, le projet visait avant tout l’épanouissement des jeunes comédiennes et comédiens. Ils ont pu renforcer leur confiance en eux, exprimer leur créativité, apprendre à travailler en équipe et faire leurs premières expériences sur scène.

What is the Flemish Network proud of for this year?

In mid-May 2025, the Flemish Network organised a two-day LEADER exchange in Boxtel, the Netherlands, together with Dutch colleagues.

The meeting entitled 'Learning from each other and collaborating without borders,' brought together around 60 participants from Flanders and the Netherlands, including LAG managers, LAG members, Managing Authorities and project promoters.

For two days, one question guided the exchange: how can LEADER areas and rural regions inspire and strengthen each other?

Held in the Dutch LEADER region “Het Groene Woud”, the meeting showed the value of sharing experiences across borders. It also highlighted how LEADER continues to mobilise people, ideas and regions.
