30 years of MEGA – a necessary commitment

Last week, MEGA celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Equality must be understood as a necessity, not a luxury.

The threats are clearly identified:

- anti-feminist backlash.
- algorithm-driven radicalization.
- persistent violence.

The discussions during the round table with confirmed it:

four urgent priorities require a collective response —
combating violence, protecting LGBTIQ+ rights, strengthening education, and addressing the impact of social media.

This calls for action at both governmental and societal levels.

Thank you to MEGA for 30 years of commitment, advocacy, and action.

30 ans du MEGA – un engagement nécessaire

La semaine dernière, le MEGA a célébré ses 30 ans.
L’égalité doit être pensée comme une nécessité, et non comme un luxe.
Les menaces sont clairement identifiées :

- backlash anti-féministe.
- radicalisation alimentée par les algorithmes.
- violences persistantes.

Les échanges lors de la table ronde avec l’ont confirmé :

quatre priorités urgentes nécessitent un effort collectif —
la lutte contre les violences, les droits LGBTIQ+, l’éducation et l’impact des réseaux sociaux.
Un engagement gouvernemental et sociétal est indispensable.

Merci au MEGA pour ces 30 années d’engagement, de plaidoyer et d’actions.

Join us for a unique workshop where we will imagine and co-create the trophies for the Luxembourg LGBTQIA+ & Allies Role Models 2026 — a first of its kind in Luxembourg!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more about how the Role Models project is unfolding here in Luxembourg — and how you, or someone you know, can become part of it.

With your support, our role is to hold space, amplify stories, and ensure this process grows with care, creativity, and community.

An independent Luxembourgish jury — bringing together people from institutions, collectives, HR, the arts, and cultural sectors — will review all applications once the call for Role Model candidatures closes at the end of December.

The jury will meet on 15 January 2026 to select the first Luxembourg Role Models, who will then be invited to the ceremony at the Rainbow Center on 23 January, where they will receive their trophies and share their stories.

Follow the series and stay tuned for the opening of nominations.

Visibility becomes inspiration when it is shared.

Au cours des prochaines semaines, nous partagerons davantage sur l’évolution du projet Role Models au Luxembourg — et sur la manière dont vous, ou quelqu’un que vous connaissez, pouvez y participer.

Avec votre soutien, notre rôle est de créer un espace, d’amplifier les histoires, et de faire en sorte que ce processus évolue avec soin, créativité et communauté.

Un jury luxembourgeois indépendant — composé de personnes issues d’institutions, de collectifs, des RH, du secteur artistique et culturel — examinera toutes les candidatures une fois l’appel clôturé fin décembre.

Le jury se réunira le 15 janvier 2026 pour sélectionner les premiers Role Models du Luxembourg, qui seront ensuite invités à la cérémonie au Rainbow Center le 23 janvier, où ils recevront leurs trophées et partageront leurs parcours.

Suivez la série et restez à l’écoute pour l’ouverture des nominations.

La visibilité devient inspiration lorsqu’elle se partage.
