What happens when beekeepers help shape a forestry standard?
In Lithuania, honeybee keepers worked with FSC’s national standard development group to include beekeeping in the country’s National Forest Stewardship Standard.
The result? Benefits for everyone involved!
More protection for biodiversity.
Safer living conditions for honeybees.
Social and economic value of forests beyond timber.
Better market access for beekeepers.
Cleaner, traceable honey for consumers.
An additional source of income for forest owners.
Fun fact: our own FSC Luxembourg President, Pierre Mischo, has also been a beekeeper for the last 40 years! 🐝🇱🇺
