When a song recording is played, authors and composers get paid – performers don't. But that's not right! 🤔

💸 Luxembourg is one of just two European countries still not collecting what is known as 'Neighbouring Rights'. The full collection pool could add up to approximately 2 million euros, which is split between the collection society and local and international performers and labels.

⚖️ The legal basis for it has existed for decades, it's just not enforced.

🤝 FAMIL wants to change this. We are actively pushing for neighbouring rights collection, making sure you get paid for your work. It's a process that will take time to set up and requires many partners to be onboard, but this year we are taking the first steps. Let's go!

🎊🎵 2025 was the founding year of famil! In the last months we've already engaged with all relevant institutions on behalf of Luxembourg's music performers, aiming for better working standards and strengthening our collective rights. Here's president with a few words.

We're happy to share that we've surpassed our goal of 100 member submissions! But there are more than 100 performers in Luxembourg. If you know of a (musician) friend who hasn't heard of famil yet, share the word. The larger our group, the stronger our voice. 🗣️

Excited to see what changes will be implemented in 2026. We'll have a general assembly on March 23rd, to which you are cordially invited. More info on that soon. Happy New Year from all of us at famil!
