Exactly four years ago yesterday — June 10, 2022 — the SIGNUM volunteer battalion executed the world's first successful combat deployment of an FPV drone.

"Fourth house. Blue doors."

That radio chatter became legendary. That single flight proved the viability of FPVs as low-cost precision weapons when top of the line weaponry was simply not available. They forever changed the rules of modern warfare, saved countless Ukrainian lives, Ukraine itself and continue to shield Europe.🪽🇪🇺

At Wings for Europe we are proud to help fuel this ongoing legacy for the third year now. With every 10-inch quad we build, with every interceptor version developed we stand on the shoulders of giants.

This Thursday, President Zelensky published a letter to Putin proposing a face-to-face meeting in a neutral country to negotiate a ceasefire.

The response? Putin stated he sees "no sense" in meeting, effectively dismissing the offer.

This exposes a brutal truth: you can’t negotiate with an agressor who refuses to acknowledge peace as an option. Zelensky’s offer once again exposed that the Kremlin is not looking for a diplomatic compromise.

To bring Russia to a real negotiating table, Ukraine needs leverage on the ground and support from the Free world. Right now, that leverage is driven by drones.

That is why our work at Wings for Europe remains so vital. Because true diplomacy and freedom is built on a foundation of strength. Help us supply the strength that forces real change.

June 6th, 1944. D-Day

On this day, hundreds of thousands crossed the English Channel to help liberate Europe from tyranny. The countries of the free world built a coalition, mobilized industry, embraced innovation, and acted.

The Europe we live in today exists because they did.

82 years later, the frontline of European freedom lies further east. Once again, an authoritarian regime seeks to change borders through force. Once again, Europe's security depends on the willingness of free people to resist aggression. And once again, success depends on our ability to innovate, adapt, and outpace our adversary.

The technologies have changed. The principle has not.

At Wings for Europe, we believe the best way to honour the legacy of D-Day is through action. Every drone delivered and every capability strengthened helps ensure that Europe remains free, secure, and able to defend itself.

Freedom is never permanently won. Every generation can be called upon to protect it.

Today we remember those who crossed the Channel, stormed the beaches, and jumped into occupied Europe.

And we stand with those defending Europe's future in Ukraine.

According to the latest assessment from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukraine has managed to secure a temporary drone advantage, utilizing mid-range strikes to disrupt Russian supply lines 50 to 90 kilometers behind the frontline.

But this edge is incredibly fragile.

The reality on the ground is a brutal, neck-and-neck race. Russia adapts ruthlessly, often copying and scaling Ukrainian innovations within a matter of weeks. Backed by support from other regimes and immense state resources, their war machine is constantly closing the gap. Ukraine isn't comfortably dominating, they are running a marathon just to stay one step ahead.

This is where we as Europeans must step in. 🇪🇺

The next time someone tells you this war "is none of our business," show them the footage from Galați, Romania. 🇷🇴

Thursday, a Russian drone carrying an explosive charge crashed into a civilian apartment block inside NATO territory, injuring a mother and her child.

This war does not stop at a line on a map. Putin’s daily drone terror has now directly hit a European city. NATO jets were scrambled, but the drone was in Romanian airspace for just four minutes before it hit the building. Complex rules of engagement mean state-level defense is often too slow to act in the moment.

But we are not. 💪

We don’t have to wait for politicians to navigate red tape to respond to "accidental" strikes on our cities. We can take direct action by supplying the Ukrainian frontline with the tools they need to neutralize these threats before they ever cross a border.

A residential neighborhood in Kyiv was struck by a russian hypersonic missile, a weapon specifically designed to carry nuclear warheads.

Ukraine did not give up its nuclear arsenal out of pure idealism. They were heavily pressured into surrendering it in exchange for security assurances from major powers: the USA, the UK, France, and most importantly, russia itself.

Today, those promises feel painfully stark. Ukraine has been bombed for over 4 years. And now its residential areas are being hammered with russian hypersonic missiles.

Ukrainians are fighting for their survival but in doing so, they are actively defending Europe’s security and the very principles the West claims to uphold.

When state-level support is too slow, too limited, or simply insufficient for the scale of this threat, non-ignorant citizens still have a role to play.

We, as Europeans, are not powerless spectators.

We can help provide the practical tools that are saving lives right now — drones, equipment, technology, and direct support for those defending freedom under daily bombardment.
Because political promises alone do not stop hypersonic missiles. People, technology, and direct action do.

Look at the targets over the last 48 hours.

Ukraine launches a historic wave of drones to systematically hit oil refineries and military microelectronic plants near Moscow, cutting off the fuel and technology that drive the invasion.

Russia's response? They launch strikes against the Danube River port of Izmail, specifically targeting civilian grain and agricultural infrastructure.

This isn't just an attack on an economy. It is a calculated attack on people's livelihoods. When they can't win on the battlefield, they resort to terrorizing civilians and burning food.

Russians hit a UN humanitarian convoy in Kherson. And then they bragged about it online.

Russian military bloggers are proudly sharing this footage, openly celebrating a direct attack on international aid workers.

This is exactly what Ukraine is shielding the rest of Europe from. From a regime that brings terror.
