Digital violence is real violence.

From cyberstalking and obsessive messaging to hidden apps, location tracking and password control, technology is being used as another tool to monitor, isolate and threaten people in relationships.

It’s not “romantic” to be tracked 24/7. It’s not “normal” for someone to demand all your passwords or install apps on your phone without your consent. That’s surveillance and control.

We all deserve safety not only at home, but also online and on our devices.
If someone is using technology to control what you do, where you go or who you speak to – that’s not love.

To end gender-based violence, we must start where it begins: in childhood, in expectations, in socialization. Violence against women becomes more likely where emotions are shut down and harmful lessons go unchallenged.
This is why early intervention matters: waiting for children to “grow out of it” and “understand later” means waiting until these beliefs are already formed, normalized and harder to unlearn.

It doesn’t help in prevention, it’s delay. And delay costs lives.
