Here's a glimpse of what happened at our last meeting:
Our meeting on Monday, 20 July at the Chambre de Commerce brought together an impressive number of members and guests for an evening of learning, laughter and inspiration.
A big thank you to our Toastmaster of the Evening and to everyone who took on meeting roles to make the evening a success. We also explored why practice and constructive feedback are at the heart of every Toastmasters journey, helping each of us grow as communicators and leaders.
📖 Our Word of the Day was lofty, while the Table Topics session challenged us to imagine what we’d do if we had a superpower—leading to plenty of creativity, quick thinking and laughter!
🎤 We then enjoyed two memorable speeches:
🚗 Ruslan took us on a journey through Ukraine, Cyprus and Luxembourg, sharing humorous driving adventures and the lessons he learned along the way in his Learn Your Sense of Humour project.
🗺️ Christina invited us on the Grammarian’s Treasure Hunt, showing that grammarians don’t simply look for mistakes—they discover the words, expressions and moments that make a speech truly unforgettable. The audience then had the opportunity to put their questions to the speaker during a lively Q&A session.
👏 Thank you to our evaluators for their thoughtful feedback and to all our members and guests for making the evening engaging, supportive and fun.
