🌳 But first, here’s a glimpse of our special outdoor meeting on 17 August…

Under the blue sky, with the sound of the waterfall in the background, Greenhearts and Casemates Toastmaster Club joined forces for a memorable evening at the Kirchberg Amphitheater.

The unusual setting took us out of our comfort zones and challenged us to adapt, think on our feet and — quite literally — project our voices! 🎤

💡 Ruslan, our Toastmaster of the Evening, got us thinking about where we should hold our next outdoor meeting: a beach, a vineyard, a cruise on the Moselle… or perhaps an ancient Greek theatre?

🎲 Our newest members are already getting involved! Pranab took on the role of Table Topics Master and brought along a mysterious wooden magic box filled with objects — a flower, a leaf and a stick of cinnamon — to inspire spontaneous speaking.

😂 Andres from Casemates took us on a hilarious journey through Mali, the Sahara Desert and Vietnam in his first humorous speech, Funny Travel Tales.

🎃 Oana from Greenhearts shared her experience of organising Tales from Beyond, a Halloween writing event, and the challenges and lessons that came with bringing the event to life.

And as always, the evening ended with something that lies at the heart of Toastmasters: constructive feedback and actionable tips that every speaker can take into their next speech.

💚 That’s what Greenhearts is about: stepping outside your comfort zone, trying something new, supporting each other and growing together.

Whether you’re an experienced speaker or have never spoken in front of an audience before, you’re welcome to join us.

☀️ Summer is no excuse to stop growing — and Greenhearts Toastmasters is definitely not on holiday!

Weather permitting, we’ll be taking Toastmasters outdoors for a joint meeting with Casemates Toastmaster Club at the Amphitheater in the park behind Coque.

🎤 Two clubs, one outdoor meeting, plenty of opportunities to speak, connect and have fun!

And here’s a glimpse of what happened at our last meeting on 3 August at the Chambre de Commerce…

💚 We welcomed 7 guests to an evening of spontaneous speaking, inspiring stories, laughter and learning.

🌱 We were especially happy to see two of our newest members, Pranab and Wisel, already taking on the challenge of stepping onto the stage! Pranab introduced our Word of the Day, while Wisel embraced impromptu speaking during Table Topics. What a great way to start their Toastmasters journey!

🎯 Speaking of the Word of the Day, “tenacious” certainly made an impression — it was used 15 times throughout the meeting!

☀️ Our Table Topics session brought a summer twist, challenging members to think on their feet and respond to spontaneous questions.

🎤 We also enjoyed two inspiring prepared speeches:

🌍 Roberto shared My Journey Across Languages, exploring his communication style and encouraging us to be tenacious when learning and using multiple languages.

🏃 Mi Hee delivered Running for Hope, sharing her experience of leadership in a volunteer organisation — and even came dressed in running gear to bring her topic to life!

Even during the summer holidays, Greenhearts keeps going. With some members away, others happily stepped up to take on multiple roles, showing the flexibility, teamwork and supportive spirit that make our club special. 💚

✨ Curious about Toastmasters?

You don’t need to be an experienced speaker, and you don’t have to wait for the “perfect” moment. Guests are welcome at any of our meetings, any time — and you can visit as many times as you wish.

Here's a glimpse of what happened at our last meeting:

Our meeting on Monday, 20 July at the Chambre de Commerce brought together an impressive number of members and guests for an evening of learning, laughter and inspiration.

A big thank you to our Toastmaster of the Evening and to everyone who took on meeting roles to make the evening a success. We also explored why practice and constructive feedback are at the heart of every Toastmasters journey, helping each of us grow as communicators and leaders.

📖 Our Word of the Day was lofty, while the Table Topics session challenged us to imagine what we’d do if we had a superpower—leading to plenty of creativity, quick thinking and laughter!

🎤 We then enjoyed two memorable speeches:

🚗 Ruslan took us on a journey through Ukraine, Cyprus and Luxembourg, sharing humorous driving adventures and the lessons he learned along the way in his Learn Your Sense of Humour project.

🗺️ Christina invited us on the Grammarian’s Treasure Hunt, showing that grammarians don’t simply look for mistakes—they discover the words, expressions and moments that make a speech truly unforgettable. The audience then had the opportunity to put their questions to the speaker during a lively Q&A session.

👏 Thank you to our evaluators for their thoughtful feedback and to all our members and guests for making the evening engaging, supportive and fun.
