2030whenigrowup.org We’re on a mission to revolutionize socio-emotional and mental well-being in kids, using tech for good.

We use tech for good to foster the holistic development of children by nurturing their emotional growth, social skills, innovative and organic learning, and building a strong, supportive community. While we host a variety of filmmaking workshops across Luxembourg, our real focus is on making socio-emotional learning personal, playful, and impactful. Think fun games, creative filmmaking, “Florinel”

, innovative learning, and thought-provoking discussions—all designed to build resilience and self-awareness in children. Each filmmaking workshop includes Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) activities and is capped at a limited number of participants to ensure a focused, transformative experience. We’re about to launch a series of groundbreaking digital products, including an AR/AI-powered app that takes personalized, fun, and socio-emotional training experiences to the next level. These virtual experiences aim to help kids become socio-emotionally aware, strong from the inside out - empowering them to harness mindful, constructive responses and step into their superhero selves.

About The Coach:
Andra Matresu has a background in film production & marketing. She has recently co-developed the Creative Club preventative initiative at Zenter fir exzessiv Verhalen (ZEV.lu), which is set to be implemented in several schools as part of Luxembourg’s Screen-Life Balance Initiative and turn passive users into mindful creators.

As we wrap up the year, we’ve got a question for you:

Are your kids OBSESSED with movies?

Great, because we’re about to turn their screen time addiction into something healthy, empowering and productive!

💡 What’s the plan?

Over 6 EPIC sessions, your kid will help us make a movie hero.

But wait—it gets better.

They’ll write the hero’s journey story
draw it on paper, and we’ll let AI do the hard work because…
technology for good!

At 2030whenigrowup.org we believe creativity beats being glued to a screen
—the ultimate life hack!

🎬 Here’s what our AI-powered hero (and your kid) will learn (basically the life hacks adults wish they got as kids but instead had to figure out the hard way)

Our participatory filmmaking hero will walk us through some steps about

- Physical strength (foods that make us feel strong and healthy).
- Mental clarity (filling our minds with good stuff, not just digital junk).
- Emotional resilience (bouncing back when things don’t go our way).
- Community (helping others, making friends, and finding where we belong).
- Environmental care (taking care of the planet because heroes protect their world).
- Financial smarts (learning how to save and spend wisely).
- Purpose (finding what makes us excited to make the world better!)

More specifically, this is what your kids will walk away with:

✔️How to fight villains - aka bullies - playbook (Personal development stuff, like not yelling “YOU SUCK!” back).
✔️ DIY clean healthy gummy bears - and why healthy food supports a Hero’s personal development more than poisonous one (yes, we’re literally bribing them with healthy candy to learn about nutrition).
✔️ A simple dance to remember when things get tough: How to be ok with feeling awkward at times.
✔️ A participatory film: How to stop watching YouTube and actually make something for once.
✔️ Self-confidence: How to talk in front of people without hiding behind their mom.
✔️ A sense of Purpose: Learn how heroes use their resources to help others and achieve their goals (the net proceedings will be donated to Asociatia WeHelp Sibiu)

Kids walk away with a little bit more self-confidence, community, a sense of purpose and a finished project (the animated hero film).

👩‍🏫 Meet your coaches (the masterminds behind this chaos):

Andra Matresu – Filmmaker, mom, media nerd, coach for preventing media addiction and a firm believer that movies are much more than just entertainment - they are tools to easier and better connect with children and build a bridge to self-understanding.

Marius Botos – A public speaking coach who loves failure (seriously, it’s in his brand), and wants to teach your kids that messing up is just part of the journey to becoming a hero.

Florinel - Online coach and kids’ best buddy - He’ll guide the hero in virtual life.

📅 The Legendary Dates:
Jan 18 | Mar 01 | Mar 29 | Apr 26 | May 24 | Jun 14 |

🎟️ Spots are LIMITED! 10 lucky kids - 4 to 11 years old - get to join this cinematic circus.

This is not just a workshop—it’s a quest to spend some quality time with your kids by doing things they enjoy most and turning them into a hero (or at least keep them busy for a few Saturdays). 💪

Price: 89 EUR per 3 hour session per kid.

Yep, they’ve gotta come to all the workshops—no skipping, no excuses, we’re building heroes here! 💪🎬

👉 Sign up before we run out of healthy yummy gummy bears !

The real reason behind kids’ tech addiction
And the one thing you can do to stop it 🔥

↓ ↓ ↓

I've noticed a pattern whenever I'm with my kids.

When I'm FULLY present, they never ask to watch a movie.

But the minute I say, "I need to answer that email" or "finish that thing,"
my son suddenly wants to watch one.

Sure, marketers, film producers, tech companies etc make their products addictive.

Add to that the challenges of balancing work-life for parents,
and it can be hard for us to safeguard our kids' wellbeing.

But here's the thing:
technology is like fire🔥

Humanity will always need 🔥.

But🔥can burn houses down or warm them up.

So before handing🔥to a child,
we need to teach them HOW to use it.

The real reason our kids get addicted isn't just because of tech.

It's because we, as parents, struggle to be the role models they need.
(You can’t preach something and then not follow through yourself.)

And it's not just about blaming the toxicity of neo-capitalism either.
(We can choose to live a simpler life if we want to.)

The truth:

It’s easier to find scapegoats than to just own it.

It's easier to share that video with kids glued to their screens
than just realize you're the one scrolling.

Before pointing the finger at tech, remember:
three fingers are pointing back at you.

And everytime you think of calling a child "tech-dependent",
consider changing it to "connection-dependent"
and see how your perspective changes.

How do you prevent your kids' addiction?

PS: If you live in Luxembourg and have kids 10-15 years old, there's this cool workshop starting next school year together with ZEV (Zenter fir exzessiivt Verhalen a Verhalenssucht) where kids learn about all these things, create stuff and learn the importance of balancing technology.

Last Saturday, a free workshop was held at 2030whenigrowup.org introducing kids to the essentials of modern filmmaking:

- Recognize the Hero's Journey in movies and life.
- Collaborative scriptwriting.
- Hand-drawing scenes.
- Animating drawings with AI Runway.
- Merging scenes into a short clip using Final Cut.

But the highlight?

One of our alumni, Lukas, ran the workshop. Lukas first joined our workshops at around 8 years old at Abbaye Neumünster and has kept coming back over the years.

This is Lukas at 11: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZtgfqjLXRQ

He's now 17 and coached the kids with such natural ease. The kids absolutely loved Lukas. Even one participant mentioned they’d choose this workshop over football if Lukas returns.

A huge shoutout to Lukas! 👏 👏👏👏 👏 👏👏👏 👏 👏👏👏

Many thanks to all the participants.

Many thanks to the team at Action Solidarité Tiers Monde - ASTM asbl for helping out with the location.

Last, but not least, thank you to Lukas' parents for making this possible!

Stay tuned for a behind-the-scenes look!

PS: Teenagers nowadays could spend their time in so many other ways, but Lukas chose to dedicate a good part of his Saturday to inspiring future generations.

👏 👏👏👏 Even more, please join in giving a round of applause to Lukas. 👏 👏👏👏

is on the brink of pioneering a monumental shift
in how we introduce our children to the digital universe.

A recent report to President Macron, crafted by a team of ten experts,
proposes a structured approach to screen exposure:

- no screens before age 3,
- no phones before 11,
- no smartphones before 13
- no social media before 15.

reset and reinvented.

Share your thoughts, let's pave the way for a healthier future for our children.

PS: bad news for some parents, they now need to play with their children.

Dear Parents,

would you be interested in registering your child end of September/beginning of October in a French-speaking workshop on "How to navigate bullying situations easier"?
We are considering bringing previous school teacher and current coach Laurie - founder of SOS Harcelement Scolaire (https://www.facebook.com/sosharcelementscolaire)
to Luxembourg and running a workshop for the kids.
A workshop like this typically lasts for 3,5 hours. If you are interested, please leave a YES below in the comments. We would also be very grateful if you could share any valuable thoughts. Thank you!

****
Chers parents,
Merci.

Please share with anyone concerned.

Watching the situation unfold, I still can't believe that this is happening in the 21st century, threatening democracy, the safety, fundamental rights and life of people. I also can't understand how people can turn a blind eye to this, many justifying so many atrocities happening in the world or "You know, this happens all the time". Yes, I know, I acknowledge these atrocities happen on a daily basis without us always knowing about them. There are also many volunteers out there who silently help these victims. In fact, I would like to praise an NGO AMANA Humanity that has silently worked with refugee children for many years and with whom I was grateful to collaborate back in 2018 (pictures attached).

Now, at 2030whenigrowup.org we would also like to offer our time free-of-charge to support the child victims of this and any other war, including Russian-speaking children who are being bullied and threatened at school because of their language, origin etc.

So, for now, I offer filmmaking workshops and playful social-emotional learning activities.

During my activities participants either learn to create videos on their own or learn about emotions, how they happen, how to navigate them, they create their own Atlas of emotions etc.

I have also received emails from people offering to do mindfulness and yoga classes for free to the victims of the war.

Usually, the workshops take place on Saturdays and Sundays (https://www.facebook.com/events/483471863349370/483471880016035/?ref=newsfeed), but I am sure we could find ways to organise these on other days.

I would be grateful if you would share my post with your community, to reach more people that might benefit from this support, but also to reach those who would like to help - psychologists, psychotherapists etc. Please share with anyone - no matter their age, young or old, children who have participated in our workshops, teenagers, anyone willing to share their time to play with these children, teach them something, help them integrate and, more or less, feel safe again etc.

Also, any participation fees paid by families who are not refugees will be donated to the refugee children.

Thank you!
