Midi de l’Art | On July 31st, the Amis des Musées were at Rotondes for a guided tour of Common Ground. 6e Triennale Jeune Création.

Launched in 2007, the Triennale Jeune Création is a flagship event spotlighting new generations of artists in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. Conceived as a platform for exchange and visibility for emerging talent, it actively contributes to the reach and vitality of the local and international art scene.

For this 6th edition, Rotondes invited La Concierge to define the theme, select the participants and imagine a scenography that brings the vision of the chosen artists to the fore. Titled Common Ground and drawing on the underground night scene, the group exhibition invites artists to explore the politics of visibility, cultural expression and collective experience.

The experience doesn’t stop at the gallery doors: a full programme of events runs throughout the summer, inviting reflection on the conditions that foster inclusivity and multiculturalism.

The exhibition runs until August 30, 2026.

Midi de l’Art | On July 27th, the Amis des Musées were at Artskoco for a guided tour of Résonance, led in French by gallerists Orie and Christophe Duplay, in the presence of the two artists.

Biro Kim and Bogyeong Choi, two graduates of Professor Park NungSaeng’s master’s programme in fine arts, are currently in residence at ArtsKoCo. Proposed by Bogyeong Choi, the theme RÉSONANCE brings their two practices into dialogue: Biro Kim offers «Le reflet de l’un dans l’autre», creating a true resonance between them.

Bogyeong Choi draws on the suffering she experienced and shared with an elephant wounded by its mahout during a stay in Thailand. In her work, the elephant now replaces the 19th-century Korean scholar, blending in turn into the landscape. Biro Kim is captivated by the forest, its shadows and its reflections, still or stirred by the waves.

Five days in Venice, with the artists and curators who made the Luxembourg Pavilion. [FULL - on waiting list]

From 12 to 16 October 2026, the Amis des Musées travel to the 61st Venice Art Biennale.

At the heart of the trip: La M***e, the immersive audiovisual installation by representing Luxembourg. The artist will join us throughout the stay, alongside Kevin Muhlen, director of Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain, and .s, curator of the Pavilion — and Aline Bouvy will also show us « her » Venice.

We will discover the International Exhibition In Minor Keys, conceived by koyo Kouoh — the first woman to curate the Art Biennale, who passed away in May 2025. Her project rests on one simple, powerful idea: to listen to what the world whispers rather than what it shouts.

Alongside a selection of national pavilions across the Giardini and the Arsenale, Venice’s landmark venues are on the programme: Marina Abramović at the Accademia, Michael Armitage at Palazzo Grassi, Lorna Simpson at Punta della Dogana, Lee Ufan and Alighiero Boetti at the San Marco Art Centre, and Julian Charrière in dialogue with Canova at the Museo Correr.

The trip is fully booked — a waiting list is open on our website. Link in bio.

The next General Assembly will take place in Córdoba, Argentina, in 2027 — and the Amis des Musées du Luxembourg will be there.

The World Federation of Friends of Museums brings together Friends of Museums associations from around the world — a community of more than two million museum lovers, united since 1975.

Each year, delegations meet for a few days of colloquium, exchange and museum visits: a chance for every federation to share the work of its Friends and to shape what comes next. Luxembourg hosted the General Assembly in 2024. After Naples in 2025 and Athens in 2026, we’re crossing the Atlantic.

Dates and programme to be announced.

Midi de l’Art | On July 17th, the Amis des Musées were welcomed at the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart for a guided tour of Vu Lilien a Linnen. Jugendstil, Handwierk a Konscht zu Lëtzebuerg, led by Michèle Walerich, co-curator of the exhibition.

Art Nouveau emerged as a new form of expression, drawing inspiration from nature while reflecting its era and modernity. Bringing beauty into everyday life and revaluing traditional craftsmanship: such were the premises for a better world. These ideas also stirred Luxembourg, where the Art Nouveau period coincided with the creation of an artistic association in 1893 and of a State School of Artisans in 1896. Through fascinating works mainly from the applied arts, preparatory drawings never shown to the public before and historical photographs, the exhibition explores in depth — for the first time — the Art Nouveau period in the Grand Duchy.

The exhibition runs until October 18, 2026.
