Our work to help victims of domestic violence has received national recognition.

Our Community and Family Services team received a National Association of Counties Achievement Award for their Domestic Violence Transportation Mini Grant initiative. The program removes a critical barrier for survivors by providing safe, reliable transportation through trusted nonprofit partners. In 2025, the program provided over 500 rides for 170 survivors and four pets, helping connect families to shelter, medical care, employment, and other essential services.

We're proud to announce that our work with the Credible Messenger program has received an award from the National Association of Counties.

Credible Messengers are natural leaders who are community-rooted and work with children and young adults affected by the justice system. Since becoming the first in the state to implement this creative initiative, the violent juvenile crime rate has seen a reduction.
