🌿💚 Déi Gréng Mauer – vum Gaart op den Teller
Aus enger klenger Skizz ass Realitéit ginn! 🌱✨ Just nach kuerz virum Wanter hu mir eis nei Beeter beplanzt. Elo däerfe si sech entwéckelen an eis an Zukunft mat frëschem Geméis a Kraider fir eis Kichen versuergen.
Well mir an eisem Passage net vill Plaz hunn, waren déi vertikal Beeter fir eis déi ideal Léisung. Si notzen de Raum an d’Héicht optimal aus a maachen aus enger bis elo éischter groer Mauer eng lieweg, gréng a produktiv Fläch. 🌿
Dobäi geet et eis net nëmmen ëm d’Produktioun vu Liewensmëttel, mee och ëm de Prinzip vun der Permakultur: mat der Natur schaffen, Ressourcen clever notzen an esou vill wéi méiglech Funktiounen op engem klenge Raum verbannen. D’Planzen droen dozou bäi, d’Mauer am Summer virun direkter Sonn ze schützen an d’Ophëtze vum Gebai ze reduzéieren. Esou entsteet e méi agreabelt Mikroklima an eisem Passage – op eng natierlech Aart a Weis. ☀️🌱
A mat der Zäit soll aus der Mauer nach vill méi ginn: e klenge Liewensraum fir Insekten, eng Plaz fir ze léieren, ze beobachten an ze ernten, an e Beispill dofir, wéi een och op klenge Flächen Liewen, Natur a Liewensmëttelproduktion matenee verbannen kann. 🐝🌿🥕
An e puer Méint kënne mer zesummen dovu profitéieren 🙂

The Green Wall – From Garden to Plate
From a simple sketch to reality! 🌱✨ Just before winter, we were able to plant our new growing beds. They can now settle in and grow, and in the future they will provide us with wonderful fresh vegetables and herbs for our kitchen.
As we have limited space in our passageway, vertical growing beds were the ideal solution. They make the most of the available space while transforming what was once a rather grey wall into a living, green and productive space. 🌿
But the idea is about more than simply growing our own food. It is also inspired by the principles of permaculture: working with nature, using resources wisely and combining as many functions as possible within a small space.
The plants will also help protect the wall from direct sunlight during the summer and reduce heat build-up. In this way, they help create a more pleasant microclimate in our passageway – naturally. ☀️🌱
Over time, the wall can become much more than that: a small habitat for insects, a place to learn, observe and harvest, and an example of how even small spaces can bring together nature, biodiversity and food production. 🐝🌿🥕
From a sketch to a green wall – and from garden to plate. 💚
A huge thank you to Equisolidaire asbl for their valuable help with the construction and for donating the first strawberry plants, to forester Luc Roeder for donating the locally sourced wood, to the municipality of Grevenmacher for donating the soil, and to all the wonderful people who came along to help us create this little new ecosystem. 🌱💚
In a few months, we’ll all be able to enjoy the fruits of our work together. 🙂
