🇱🇹🇺🇸 During their visit to New York, a delegation of members from the Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts Business Women Club visited the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Lithuania to the United Nations, where they met with Lithuania’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Rytis Paulauskas.

During the meeting, the Ambassador presented the activities, key priorities, and main areas of work of Lithuania’s Mission to the United Nations. It was also an opportunity to introduce the activities of the Business Women Club of the Vilnius Chamber, its international outlook, and the objectives of the visit to New York.

The Club President, Irma Januševičiūtė - Spudienė, shared her work as a BPW Europe representative to EIGE, presented seminars already held in Lithuania, and highlighted the topics that are currently especially important to the Club’s community: equality, women’s leadership, international cooperation, and the real empowerment of women.

This meeting was significant not only as a gesture of diplomatic attention to the Lithuanian business women’s community. It once again confirmed that the Business Women Club of the Vilnius Chamber is an active, visible community operating in an international context, addressing meaningful issues and building connections with broader impact.

During the visit, the delegation also gained closer insight into the environment of Lithuania’s Permanent Mission to the UN, where diplomatic service meaningfully blends with the representation of Lithuanian culture. An additional and unique experience was the opportunity to explore the spaces of the United Nations Headquarters, their history, and their daily operations.

Such meetings demonstrate that Lithuanian women’s business leadership has a place in the global context, and that a purposefully united community can be heard even where decisions of global importance are made.

The visit of members of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts Business Women Club / BPW Vilnius Chamber Lithuania to New York was more than participation in international events. It was a powerful reminder that Lithuania’s name in the world is strengthened by people, communities, and meaningful connections.

During the visit, the delegation took part in the BPW International Leaders’ Summit 2026 and the United Nations CSW70 events, and also met with Lithuanian representatives and leaders of the Lithuanian community in New York.

At the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in New York, a meeting was held with Consul General Dovydas Spokauskas and Commercial Attaché Dovile Meliauskaite. During the meeting, Club Chair Irma Januševičiūtė - Spudienė and member Vilma Grigoraitiene presented the activities of the Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts and the Business Women Club, highlighting their international initiatives and the active role of Lithuanian businesswomen within the global BPW community.

We also introduced Lithuania and the Business Women Club as the future host of the BPW Europe Conference 2028 in Vilnius, and invited partners to contribute to its promotion and to strengthening Lithuania’s visibility on the international stage.

A particularly meaningful part of the visit was the commemoration of March 11 in New York. For the first time in history, a Lithuanian flag-raising ceremony was held in Manhattan, symbolizing that Lithuania’s name is heard and seen far beyond its borders.

A separate and very memorable meeting took place with Sondra Litvaityte, Head of the Lithuanian Professionals Club in New York. She organized a guided tour for the delegation at the New York Public Library, one of the city’s most impressive cultural landmarks.

One of the most touching moments was the visit to the memorial plaque dedicated to Martin Radtke, an immigrant from Lithuania. In his youth, he had no opportunity to study, but after arriving in New York, he educated himself in this very library. Later, he dedicated his legacy to ensuring that others would have the same opportunity.

This story reminds us of a simple but powerful truth: knowledge changes destinies, and a true legacy lives on in people.

The delegation of the Business Women’s Club “BPW Vilnius Chamber,” operating under the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, took part in the BPW International Leaders’ Summit 2026 and the United Nations CSW70 events in New York 🗽

, together with members Vilma Grigoraitiene and Živilė Venckienė, represented Lithuania in the international community of women leaders. The meetings focused strongly on women’s role in decision-making, leadership, and international cooperation.

In New York, the delegation presented Lithuania, established new connections with members of the BPW International community from various countries, and invited the international community to the BPW Europe Conference, which will take place in Lithuania in 2028. For the club, this was important not only as an international experience, but also as a concrete step in strengthening partnerships, increasing visibility, and preparing for 2028.

According to the club’s president, Irma Spudienė, this trip clearly showed that Lithuania is visible within the international BPW community and has much to offer. “In New York, we once again saw that Lithuania is heard and appreciated in this community. For us, this is important not only as participation in international events. It is consistent work to strengthen the club’s connections, expand partnerships, and prepare for 2028, when we will welcome the European BPW community in Lithuania. We want that gathering to demonstrate not only our ability to organize, but also the strong, active, and growing community of businesswomen we have.”

Club member Vilma Grigoraitienė also shared her reflections after the events, highlighting the human side of leadership. “Today, leadership for me first and foremost means the ability to create an environment where people can trust one another, think clearly, and act toward a common goal. Meetings with women leaders from different countries around the world reminded me once again that real impact begins where connection, respect, and the courage to unite others emerge.”

Today, this means stronger ties and a broader international perspective. In 2028, it will translate into an even stronger role for Lithuania in the European BPW community. 🇱🇹🤝🇺🇸

🌍 Women in Business Worldwide Speak About Leadership, Trust, and Values

Every meeting between BPW International members is more than just new connections – it is a space to share experience, values, and perspectives on the modern woman’s role in business and society. This time, in Düsseldorf, Germany, BPW Düsseldorf met with Irma Januševičiūtė - Spudienė, Head of the Business Women’s Club at the Vilnius Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.
