The Global Lithuanian Economic Forum (Pasaulio lietuvių ekonomikos forumas - PLEF) is the largest economic event for Lithuanians globally. The Forum brings together the leaders of international and local market economics across a range of different fields, promotes the formation of valuable contacts and the exchange of progressive experience, and contributes to the development of a strong communit
y of Lithuanians around the world. Organised since 2009, the Forum has already taken place in Vilnius, Chicago and London. The PLEF annually attracts more than 400 outstanding personalities in business, politics and culture from Lithuania and several dozen foreign countries. During 20-21 October 2015, the PLEF will be held in Tel Aviv, Israel. The event will focus on innovations, synergy between business and science, new technologies, breakthroughs in research and development, and the relationships between Israel and Lithuania. Israel, like Lithuania, is seeking to present itself to the world as a country of high technologies, and sharing experience and organising joint projects will therefore play an important role in the development of innovations in both countries. The Forum is organised by the Lithuanian Business Confederation together with its main partners: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania; Enterprise Lithuania; Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA); and Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Israel.
