CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS FROM LITHUANIA 🇱🇹 FOR CYPRUS🇨🇾

From Bias to Belonging (3-11 April 2026) in Larnaca, Cyprus

About Project:
The project addresses a critical rise in social polarization, xenophobia, and hate speech currently affecting youth across Europe. Many young people living in multicultural environments lack the necessary
intercultural literacy and resilience to move from being passive bystanders to active "upstanders" against discrimination. Furthermore, the prevalence of digital echo chambers often reinforces negative stereotypes, making it difficult for youth to engage in meaningful dialogue. This initiative specifically targets these gaps by fostering a sense of belonging and providing participants, especially those facing social or economic barriers, with the practical tools needed to deconstruct personal biases and navigate diverse societies with empathy and confidence.

Aligned with the Erasmus+ programme, it focuses on learning mobility, personal growth, non-formal education, sustainability, and social inclusion — encouraging young people to become active, responsible citizens of a united and resilient Europe.

🏠 Accommodation, meals, training materials, and certificates are fully covered.
💶 Travel reimbursement up to 395 EUR.

We have just finished our participation in the Erasmus+ youth exchange in Riga. The theme was resilience.

For seven days, we worked with groups from Latvia, Hungary, Lithuania, and Italy. We did many different activities together.

We discussed what resilience means and shared personal experiences of dealing with difficult situations. We had debates on how to handle large-scale problems like pandemics and political conflicts. We also did practical workshops, such as preparing emergency kits and creating digital content to share what we learned.

A big part of the week was sharing our cultures. Each country’s team presented their food, music, and traditions. This helped us understand each other better.

The project gave us useful knowledge about planning for crises and working in teams. More importantly, it allowed us to connect with other young people facing similar challenges in different countries. We learned that sharing experiences is a strong form of support.

We want to thank the host organization in Latvia and all the partner groups for organizing this valuable exchange. It was a good experience.

We are partners in a fascinating and impactful project. Bridges, not walls: a newly established youth group from Cyprus develops a youth exchange called 'From Bias to Belonging,' focusing on multiculturalism, intercultural dialogues, and human rights. As an NGO that works with young people from diverse backgrounds, we recognize the importance of equipping them to combat discrimination and racism and to act as peacebuilders. In Lithuania, as well, the foreign and international students are increasing. We will also multiply the impact of this project in our community.

To create more impactful projects and address the needs of the young people, we have created a survey and are sharing it with you. Your answers will help us shape our project based on the real needs of the young people.

Day 7 of “FOMO to JOMO: Journey to Mindful Living”

was a heartfelt closing chapter to an unforgettable journey of presence, awareness, and human connection. ✨🌿

We began our final morning with a meditation for gratitude, taking time to appreciate not just the project, but the growth we each experienced along the way. ☀️🧘‍♀️ The calm, peaceful energy in the room felt like a collective hug.

The first session was all about celebrating our learning as participants filled out their Youthpass certificates — reflecting on the 8 key competences and the powerful lessons they’ll take home. It wasn’t just paperwork, but a reminder of every conversation, moment of stillness, and lesson in letting go of FOMO. 📜✨

After a coffee break ☕, we moved into project planning workshops where national teams worked on ideas to spread mindful living and digital wellbeing in their own communities. From local campaigns to awareness events — brilliant ideas were born!

In the afternoon, we presented our dissemination plans and shared what we’d carry forward. It was so inspiring to see how one week can spark actions in so many different corners of Europe. 🌍💙

We then came together for our final reflection circle — a space where everyone opened their hearts, shared favorite moments, gratitude, and a few tears. It was a moment of collective presence none of us will forget.

The evening was pure joy: a video recap of our week, exchanging gifts, revealing secret friends, hugs, music, and laughter under the stars. 🌌🎶 It wasn’t a goodbye — it was a “see you soon.”

Day 6 of “FOMO to JOMO: Journey to Mindful Living”

was a day of clarity, movement, and heartfelt reflection. 🌿✨

We started with a peaceful morning meditation session, welcoming the new day with calm breaths, soft music, and gratitude for how far we’ve come on this mindful journey. ☀️🧘‍♂️

Our first activity, “Page by Page: Chronicles of the Self”, invited participants to open their personal journals and release negative thoughts, fears, and worries onto paper. ✍️ It was a quiet, powerful moment of honesty with ourselves — leaving space for peace and acceptance to settle in.

After a coffee break ☕, we gathered outdoors for an inspiring session of Tai Chi. The gentle, flowing movements combined with mindful breathing taught us how to find balance not only in our bodies but in our thoughts and emotions. The calmness in the group was incredible — it felt like we moved as one. 🌸

In the afternoon, we visited a local municipality, where we discussed community wellbeing initiatives and mental health projects happening at the city level. It was inspiring to see how mindful practices can extend into public spaces and make an impact beyond our individual lives. 🌍✨

The day closed with our now-traditional reflection circle, where participants shared how much lighter, calmer, and more connected to themselves they felt. Emotions were high, and so was gratitude. ❤️

The evening was slow and soulful — filled with music, deep talks, and quiet appreciation for every invisible string tying us together.
