Today, we celebrate April 23rd, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, a historic milestone uniquely dedicated to the world’s children by the visionary leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

106 years ago, the foundation of the Turkish Grand National Assembly was laid, marking the dawn of independence. By dedicating this day to the children of the world, Atatürk sent a powerful message to humanity: Children are the true architects of peace and the heartbeat of our future.

As the Turkish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce (TLCC), we carry this inspiration into every bridge we build between nations. We believe that by nurturing the "limitless potential" of our youth, we aren't just growing businesses; we are securing a brighter tomorrow for both Türkiye and Lithuania.

On last week, April 14th, we held an insightful online webinar together with Bilişim Vadisi, Türkiye's largest technology development zone.

During the session, we detailed the strategic advantages of the Lithuanian ecosystem for startups and scale-ups aiming to expand into the European Union. Lithuania stands out as a high-speed launchpad for global tech players, and we discussed how Turkish companies can effectively use this gateway to scale their operations.

It was an honor to have such experienced names sharing their insights, including Esra Toplu, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Vilnius; Erkam Tüzgen, General Manager of Bilişim Vadisi; Gökhan Karaca, Ph.D., Commercial Counsellor in Vilnius; Ümit Ateşağaoğlu, Director of the Turkish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce; and Güven Çelikkaya, Founder of Mythbox Yazılım.

March 11 – Lithuania’s Independence Restoration Day!

Today, Lithuania celebrates one of the most important moments in its modern history.

On 11 March 1990, the Supreme Council of Lithuania signed the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania, declaring the restoration of Lithuania’s independence after 50 years of Soviet occupation. With this historic decision, Lithuania became the first Soviet republic to declare the restoration of its independence, inspiring democratic movements across the region.

This courageous step marked the beginning of a new era for Lithuania, a path that has led the country to become a strong democratic state, a member of the European Union and NATO, and an important partner in the Baltic and Nordic region.

As Turkish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, we are proud to witness Lithuania’s remarkable progress and to contribute to strengthening the growing economic and business ties between Türkiye and Lithuania.
