Holding the Space for Stories — 2-day Playback Theatre workshop in Vilnius
How does a space emerge where people feel safe to tell their stories?
We invite Playback Theatre practitioners — actors, musicians, conductors, and facilitators.
This workshop explores the often less visible, yet essential elements of Playback Theatre: how the structure is held, how listening happens, and how the conditions for stories to unfold are created.
During the training, participants will:
• deepen their understanding of the conductor’s role
• practice interviewing and listening to support the teller
• explore rhythm and dramaturgy in a Playback event
• work with the sideline effect and supporting roles
• develop ensemble awareness through practice and reflection
The training is led by Synne and Jan Platander (Sweden), co-founders of Teater X in Stockholm and leaders of the Scandinavian Playback Theatre Studio (affiliated with the Centre for Playback Theatre).
With nearly three decades of experience, they bring a rich combination of Playback Theatre, psychodrama, adult education, and organizational work.
