The International Centre for Litvak Photography was registered as an NGO in Lithuania on May 25, 2015. Two months, one international workshop and a three-week fact-finding trip to Poland, Germany and the UK later and we’re finally ready to officially launch. Founded as a creative antidote to the ineffectiveness of most Lithuanian institutions who say many things about memory but who do little to p

reserve it, we use photography as the catalyst for a wide range of educational and cultural events aimed at putting Lithuanian Jewish history back in the picture and creating a better understanding of Lithuania’s diverse Litvak cultural heritage. Like us, Share us, ask us to come and work with you, and, most importantly for the short-term future, donate some spare money so we can get on and do the things we need to do. The International Centre for Litvak Photography is an apolitical and secular organisation that values Litvak history and culture as inclusive subjects open to everyone regardless of age, race, religion, ability or sexual orientation.
