๐ Event Highlights
The forum began with an icebreaker event on October 8, providing attendees an informal setting to network and connect ahead of the main conference.
Over the two following days, discussions centered around regional cooperation for CCUS implementation, scientific and technological advances, legal frameworks, public perception, and ongoing projects in the Baltic Sea region.
A technical visit to UP Catalyst facilities took place on the first day, offering participants the opportunity to witness commercial-scale carbon utilization in action โ transforming captured COโ into battery raw materials and carbon nanotubes.
On the second day, a panel discussion titled โCarbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage: A Solution to Climate Change or a False Hope?โ brought together distinguished panellists โ SAYURI Shirai, Eugene Holubnyak, Carlo Maccherini, Alva Nรฅmdal Kjensli, and Jฤnis Volberts โ to discuss the potential of CCUS in addressing climate change, economic feasibility, and societal acceptance.

๐ About BCF
The Baltic Carbon Forum (BCF) is part of BASRECCSโs long-term strategy to promote the large-scale development of CCUS technologies across the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) โ a key pathway toward climate change mitigation. Each year, the BCF Conference serves as a platform for collaboration, innovation, and dialogue โ enabling participants to expand their networks, share research breakthroughs, explore emerging technologies, and identify opportunities to accelerate the deployment of CCUS solutions across the region.
Stay tuned for more updates!
A full BCF 2025 report and announcements about BCF 2026 will be shared soon.
