Banish Cancer Fear Together — Knowledge Is Our Weapon

Banish Cancer was founded in 2021 by Nerijus Kaziela, a Stage IVA/G3 cancer survivor who endured 35 radiotherapy sessions and 11 chemotherapy cycles in one continuous stretch — followed immediately by a COVID‑19 infection that forced even deeper isolation at the moment support was needed most. That experience revealed a truth too many patients face alone:
healing is not only physical — it’s deeply

emotional. Banish Cancer exists to support people through the hardest mental‑battle nights of cancer. We help patients and families feel less alone by providing clear, trustworthy, fact‑checked educational information that brings confidence instead of fear. We translate complex oncology research from leading institutions — including, but not limited to, Nature Medicine, NEJM, The Lancet Oncology, Blood, NCI, ASCO, ESMO, MD Anderson, and Johns Hopkins — into guidance that most people can understand. Our work includes:
• Evidence‑based cancer education
• Prevention strategies and awareness
• Clear explainers on diagnosis and treatment
• Mental‑health support resources
• Survivor‑led insights
• Development of Fear Response AI, a future tool designed to offer calm presence during the long nights when fear hits hardest

We support cancer patients and families globally, including Lithuania, where our mission began. BANISH CANCER FEAR TOGETHER.

Genetics influence cancer risk, but only a small portion of cancers come from inherited mutations.

Family patterns like early cancer, repeated cancers across generations, or multiple cancers in one person can signal hereditary risk. Key genes such as BRCA, Lynch‑syndrome genes, TP53, PTEN, CHEK2, and others increase susceptibility, but lifestyle still drives the overwhelming majority of cancer cases.

Diet, exercise, smoking habits, and weight remain major factors.

Biologics are reshaping metastatic cancer treatment.

These therapies use living cells to target cancer with precision—checkpoint inhibitors, monoclonal antibodies, CAR T‑cells, antibody‑drug conjugates, and oncolytic viruses.

They improve survival in melanoma, lung cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and blood cancers. CAR T‑cell therapy reaches remission rates up to 90% in some leukemias.

Targeted drugs like selpercatinib show 64–85% response rates in RET‑fusion lung cancer.

Benign doesn’t always mean harmless.

Non‑cancerous tumors can still compress organs, damage nerves, block hormones, or become life‑threatening depending on their location.

Brain meningiomas, pituitary adenomas, thyroid adenomas, fibroids, and bone tumors can all cause serious complications. Regular imaging, symptom tracking, and follow‑up are essential.

Clean air and water directly affect your lungs, heart, sleep, and long‑term health.

Indoor pollutants trigger headaches, fatigue, asthma, and even increase cancer risk. HEPA purifiers cut particle levels by 50%+, and proper ventilation reduces CO₂, VOCs, and allergens.

Water testing identifies contaminants like lead, radon, arsenic, and nitrates—filters remove them before they reach your body.

Pursed‑lip breathing strengthens your lungs by slowing your breathing, improving oxygen levels, and reducing shortness of breath. Just 5–10 minutes, four to five times a day, can make a measurable difference.

Research shows it improves oxygenation and reduces breathlessness from 3.19 → 1.69 in clinical tests.

Patient privacy isn’t optional — it’s the foundation of trust in healthcare.

Confidentiality protects your dignity, prevents stigma, and keeps sensitive information out of the wrong hands. HIPAA, GDPR, encryption, MFA, and strict access controls exist because breaches cost millions and destroy trust.

When privacy is protected, patients communicate honestly and receive better care.

Health insurance protects you from massive medical bills — but only if you understand how your plan works.

Premiums, deductibles, copays, networks, and out‑of‑pocket maximums decide what you actually pay.

Using in‑network providers, preventive services, and knowing your coverage rules keeps your costs down and your care predictable.

Smart technology is reshaping diagnostic accuracy.

AI detects diseases earlier, reduces false positives, and improves imaging interpretation.

Wearables and biosensors provide continuous monitoring, catching abnormalities before symptoms appear.

Clinical decision support systems cut diagnostic errors by 25–33%, and AI‑augmented systems reach up to 94% accuracy.

Tumor grading shows how abnormal cancer cells look under a microscope and helps predict how fast a tumor may grow or spread.

Lower grades mean slower growth; higher grades mean more aggressive behavior and poorer prognosis. Understanding your grade helps you make informed treatment decisions and know what to expect.
