06/03/2026

Endometriosis is one of the most misunderstood women’s health conditions in the world. Millions of women live with Endometriosis; a chronic condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it, often causing severe pain, fatigue, inflammation and in many cases infertility. Yet for far too long, many women have been told that their pain is simply “normal period pain,” leaving them to navigate years of suffering before receiving proper diagnosis. Behind the everyday smiles and routines of many women exists a quiet, relentless battle with a condition that affects their physical health, emotions and overall quality of life.

As we acknowledge the women around the world who are living with endometriosis, we are reminded of the importance of compassion and better healthcare systems that truly listen to women’s experiences. Too many women continue to suffer in silence due to lack of information and limited access to proper medical care. Their experiences highlight a broader issue in global health: the urgent need to prioritize women’s health and ensure that conditions affecting them are researched, diagnosed and treated with the seriousness they deserve.

Advocating for women battling endometriosis aligns directly with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, which calls for ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for people of all ages. Achieving this goal requires greater investment in reproductive health education, improved medical training to recognize conditions like endometriosis earlier, increased research funding and healthcare systems that treat women’s pain with urgency and respect. No woman should have to fight to be believed when she says something is wrong with her body.

Today we stand in solidarity with every woman living with endometriosis. Your resilience reminds us that women’s health issues are essential public health matters. By raising awareness, encouraging open conversations and supporting policies that strengthen healthcare access and research, we move closer to a future where women everywhere can live healthier, fuller lives without having to endure preventable suffering in silence.

Today we celebrate the brilliance and courage of women and girls in science. We also highlight the importance of inclusive access to STEM education and leadership because they strengthen global development outcomes.

As the UN Lesotho Youth in SDGs Advancement, we recognise that achieving the Sustainable Development Goals requires equal representation in science, innovation and leadership roles.

So, to every girl curious about how the world works, there is space for you in laboratories, in technology hubs, in engineering rooms, in research centres and in decision-making spaces.

The future belongs to those who dare to discover it. 💫

Youth Mental Health Matters. ✨️

As per The United Nations Department of Economics and Social Affairs (DESA) in the World Youth Report, the well-being of young people is mostly shaped by everyday lives and not just healthcare services. The report is a reminder that we play a vital role in shaping our own lives and those of the people in our communities.

For the youth in Lesotho, this report can be used as a guide on how to take better care of ourselves and those that we are surrounded by.

How can we make use of this report:

~ Advocate for safe, inclusive mental health spaces in schools, universities and communities.
~ Encourage youth-centered policies that treat mental health as a social and developmental priority.
~ Normalize conversations around mental well-being without shame, stigma or silence.
~ Partner with organizations to get access to proper support systems.

What changes can we make as young people:

~ Take care of our minds and bodies, as well as resting when feeling overwhelmed.
~ Build communities of friends to help stay afloat
~ Pay attention to rest, purpose, and not just productivity.
~ Focus on learning new skills and acquiring knowledge and expertise.

By caring about youth well-being, we also support the sustainable development goals by prioritizing education, decent work, equality and peace. This report reminds us that young people's well-being is not at all theoretical, it is practical, urgent and essential.

As an initiative, we are listening, learning and ready to make a difference. We strive to build stronger communities, healthier minds and brighter futures for the youth in Lesotho. 🤍🇱🇸

World Interfaith Harmony Week ✨️

Theme: Celebrating Peace, Honoring Leaders – From Prayer to Action.

In a world shaped by differences, faith can either divide us or bring us closer together. This Interfaith Week we honor the truth that no sustainable future can be built without spiritual understanding, mutual respect and room to hold space for each other.

Faith has long guided communities toward compassion, justice and care for one another, which is a much needed value in a world that urgently needs peace. When we create space for all faiths and belief systems to coexist with dignity, we take a huge leap toward a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable world.

To make the world a better place we don’t leave faith behind, let alone anyone regardless of their background. May our differences never be walls but bridges that bind us together, and may faith always remind us of our shared vision in humanity. ☮️🤍
