BOHAYA Participation at the NACYC Youth Leadership Project District Dialogue
On 28 May 2026, BOHAYA participated in the National AIDS Commission Youth Consortium (NACYC) District Dialogue held at the National AIDS Commission (NAC) premises in Maseru. The dialogue formed part of the closing activities of the Youth Leadership Project (YLP), implemented with support from UNICEF.
The dialogue brought together young people, youth mentors, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders involved in the national HIV response. Participants actively engaged in discussions and shared experiences on challenges affecting young people, including HIV, gender-based violence, early and unintended pregnancies, and child marriages.
As part of the programme, BOHAYA contributed to discussions on HIV prevention, treatment, and adherence, emphasizing the importance of access to information, uptake of services, and adherence to treatment among young people. The engagement provided an opportunity to share knowledge, address misconceptions, and encourage positive health-seeking behaviours.
BOHAYAโs contribution strengthened participantsโ understanding of HIV prevention and treatment while encouraging young people to access available health services and remain committed to treatment adherence. The dialogue also served as a platform for gathering recommendations that will contribute to the upcoming National Dialogue on the integrated HIV response in Lesotho.
BOHAYA appreciates the invitation extended by NACYC and the National AIDS Commission and remains committed to supporting youth-led initiatives that promote health, well-being, and the meaningful participation of young people in the national HIV response.
