Care for Basotho Association (CBA) is established as a not-for-profit organization, and compromises primarily of past CARE staff, in order to draw on the experience, skills and established relationships with local communities that were the strengths of CARE Lesotho. CBA aims to fill the programming niches that remain following CARE Lesotho’s departure, and to continue to reach vulnerable Basotho communities in collaboration with local and international development partners and the Government of Lesotho.

:To advocate for lasting developmental changes addressing the needs of poor and vulnerable communities living in under-served areas of Lesotho.

:To engage in climate change initiatives to assist in mitigating its impacts to vulnerable communities.
: To create conducive platforms in addressing gender based interventions to reduce discrimination.
:To facilitate training to capacitate beneficiaries for self-reliance.

BEHKEP
The purpose of the project is to encourage commercial s*x workers to use condoms, encourage HIV counselling and testing and be referred for treatment and care (TEST AND TREAT). The participants will are also able to understand risky s*xual behavior and their level of HIV risk. The target audience is commercial s*x workers (CSW) from Maputsoe and Maseru.
Mapping of commercial s*x workers Hot Spots
Care for Basotho Association (CBA) carried out a mapping exercise of the hot spots of commercial s*x workers in Maseru and Maputsoe. The mapping was carried out by the CBA staff in conjuction with 3 previous peer educators in Maseru and 2 previous peer educators in Maputsoe. These peer educators were selected by project Manager and the Referral and Linkage Facilitator of CBA. The selection criteria for the peer educators to conduct the mapping were based on their previous experience and work with Care Lesotho.
