Art speaks where words sometimes fail.
This cloth, designed by our New Millennium Risers, shows how young people are turning art into activism against GBV.
This cloth is more than a fabric, it is a voice, a message, and a stand against violence.

World Threatre Day
Not every stage has lights, some are classrooms, some are communities, and some are everyday conversations.
Drama is more than a performance, it’s a powerful tool for change. Through storytelling, young people find their voice, challenge harmful norms, and speak out against GBV.
This , we celebrate the power of youth using art to rise and lead.

Today we want to celebrate the amazing work of our first Lesotho ambassador, Khotsofalo Shali. She created this beautiful One Billion Rising Lesotho logo. If you know the original One Billion Rising logo, you can see how she gave it a local touch, making it proudly Lesotho. This small change shows how we are taking ownership and making it our own.

Rising for our bodies and our future means standing up for the health and dignity of women and girls.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month-a time to recognize a serious condition that often goes undiagnosed for many years. Endometriosis causes intense, persistent pain that robs women and girls of comfort, confidence, and the ability to focus at school or fully participate in daily life. Some are forced to stay home, missing out on learning and opportunities, which affects their future.

As we reflect on the One Billion Rising call to end violence and stand for women’s dignity, it is vital to also recognize that listening to women’s bodies, validating their pain, and supporting menstrual health is part of rising for their rights and future.

Breaking the silence on conditions like endometriosis ensures that girls and women can learn, grow, and participate fully in life.

1BillionRising together with Maleah Foundation continues to build spaces where girls can learn, speak openly, and stand together. Today the One Billion Rising Lesotho team was in Butha-Buthe District following an invitation from the SRC of Soofia International School for a menstrual health talk with the students. We had an open and honest conversation about the menstrual cycle, hygiene, and safe sanitary products. We were also excited to activate the Girls for Girls Club as we gear up for Menstrual Hygiene Day. The girls showed great energy, confidence, and curiosity. They asked questions, shared experiences, and showed they are ready to rise for their bodies, the earth, and their future.
