Closing of the LNOC Anti-Doping Education Officers Training of Trainers Session

The LNOC Anti-Doping Education Officers Training of Trainers Session officially concluded today after a successful and informative programme aimed at strengthening Anti-Doping education and promoting clean sport in Lesotho.

29 participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the training, marking their readiness to support Anti-Doping education initiatives within their respective Sport Federations.

The closing ceremony was officiated by the LNOC Director of Sports Medicine and the Protection of Clean Athletes Commission Mr. Litsitso MOTSEREMELI, who commended the participants for their commitment and encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained to safeguard the integrity of sport.

The LNOC extends its sincere appreciation to the presenters who contributed to the success of the training: Mr. Thabo KHOLOPO, Ms. Limpho MAKHOALI, Dr. Makhetha MOSOTHO and Dr. Mapepe Mahao. Their expertise and dedication played a significant role in making the training both insightful and impactful.

Building a Stronger, Cleaner Future for Sport in Lesotho!

The LNOC today officially launched the Anti-Doping Education and Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) Training of Trainers Workshop, bringing together 30 participants from various National Sport Federations. Officially opened by LNOC Chief Executive Officer Mr. Morake RALEAKA, the three-day workshop runs from 5–7 June 2026 and aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to serve as Anti-Doping Education Focal Persons within their respective National Sport Federations.

In his opening remarks, Mr. RALEAKA emphasized that the initiative is a strategic step towards strengthening LNOC structures and advancing the objectives of the LNOC Strategic Plan 2025–2035. He highlighted the importance of Anti-Doping Education in promoting clean sport, protecting athlete welfare, and fostering integrity and fair play.

The event was also attended by LNOC Director of Sports Medicine and Protection of Clean Athletes Commission, Mr. Litsitso MOTSEREMELI, and LNOC Chief of Operations, Ms. Mathato MAKHOROROLE.

The workshop will expose participants to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) education framework, Anti-Doping regulations, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), Results Management, Doping Control procedures, Athlete rights and responsibilities, and the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP). Participants will also gain practical skills to deliver Anti-Doping and Values-Based Education programmes within their federations .

33 New Leaders Ready to Drive the Sport for All Movement in Lesotho!

Today marked the successful conclusion of the TAFISA Certified Leadership Course Level I, bringing an inspiring four-day learning journey to a close.

A total of 33 participants successfully completed the course, representing various sectors, including Care Facilities, Qiloane Council, Refugees, People Living with Disabilities, and the Lepereng Olympafrica Centre. Throughout the four days, participants engaged in interactive sessions focused on leadership development, community engagement, project planning, and the promotion of Sport for All initiatives.

The course culminated in the presentation of Sport for All Project Proposals, with each sector showcasing innovative plans aimed at increasing participation in sport and physical activity within their communities.

The participants were awarded certificates by LNOC Vice President Mr. Rammotang MAKATILE, who congratulated them on their commitment and encouraged them to become ambassadors of positive change through sport.

As the training comes to an end, the real work begins. The 33 newly certified leaders are now expected to implement their Sport for All projects under the guidance and support of the Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC), helping to create healthier, more active, and inclusive communities across the country.

STRENGTHENING CLEAN SPORT THROUGH EDUCATION AND AWARENESS.

National Sport Federations representatives will be participating in the Anti-Doping Education and OVEP Training Session taking place from 05–07 June 2026 in Maseru, Lesotho. This important workshop aims to enhance knowledge of anti-doping regulations, promote ethical sporting values, and empower federations to champion fair play and integrity in sport.

Together, we say NO! to doping and YES! to clean sport.

TAFISA Certified Leadership Course Level I Officially Opens in Maseru!

The TAFISA Certified Leadership Course (CLC) Level I officially commenced today in Maseru, bringing together 40 participants from various sectors, including people with disability, care facilities, the Maseru District Council, refugee communities and participants from the Lepereng OlympAfrica Center. The four-day course is organized by the LNOC under the technical support of TAFISA and funding from Olympic Solidarity.

Facilitated by TAFISA experts Prof Dr. Anneliese GOSLIN and Mrs. Tapiwa MASUNGA, the course covers leadership and management, Sports for All programme development, advocacy, strategic planning, mentorship, and community engagement. Participants will also learn how to design, implement, monitor and sustain inclusive sport initiatives using TAFISA's development framework.

The opening ceremony was attended by LNOC Vice President Administration, Mr. Rammotang MAKATILE, District Council Secretary's Representative, Ms. Osia NKOPA, LNOC Chief Operations Officer Ms Mathato MAKHOROLE and Ministry of Sports Recreation Manager Ms. Matsepo KHAU, who delivered the keynote address on behalf of the Ministry of Sports.

The course will conclude on Friday with project presentations, certificate awards, and a closing ceremony.
