🎬📽🎞🎥📸As the curtains fall on this year’s Lesotho International Film Festival (LIFF), we celebrate not only the artistry of film but also the spirit of storytelling that binds us together. Over the past days, we have witnessed powerful narratives, local and international, that remind us of the resilience, creativity and vision of filmmakers who dare to tell authentic African stories.

LIFF 2025 - FILM SYNOPSIS - ‘Mitsa - By the anger of his ancestors, Tefo's first born Son gets admitted in a hospital and lies in a very critical condition. Tefo's life becomes a series of nightmares as he starts to see people haunting him and strange things happening around. With the help of the traditional healer, the ancestors' commandments to have their blood sent back home are unleashed. Now, will Tefo have the guts to face his family let alone his mother, and tell them about his hidden three years old son and perform a ceremony to appease his ancestors?

SYNOPSIS - Phririmana is short suspenseful film Directed and Written by Lehlohonolo Mongangane, produced by Oxsnow Studio. The film follows a young girl haunted by a mysterious figure standing on dimly window. The title "PHIRIMANA" and the subtitle "Ha ngoana a tshaba" (meaning: "Midnight when a child is afraid" in Sesotho) hint themes of fear, trauma, and possibly the supernatural or psychological struggles. The film atmosphere is tense and foreboding, leaving the audience to ponder story's outcome.

Once a child from their own community, he now calls himself a criminal,bitter, broke, and burning with revenge. Claiming that land was stolen from him by Botsikinyane's uncle, he begins to intimidate the friends with threats and rage. As tension rises, the boys must confront the haunting reality of forgotten pasts, hidden.
