Media Conference on Equity for Visually Impaired Women and Girls

On Friday, 5th June 2026, LNLVIP, through its GADIP Project, successfully hosted a media conference at Hokahanya Inn (Kick4Life).

The purpose of the conference was to highlight critical issues of equity and inclusion affecting visually impaired women and girls, bringing these important conversations to the forefront of public and media attention.

The event gathered stakeholders and members of the media to amplify the voices and experiences of visually impaired women and girls, and to promote equal opportunities, access to services, and inclusive development.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants, and media representatives who attended and supported this important initiative.

Celebrating Assistive Technology Day 4 June 2026

Today, LNLVIP proudly joins the global community in acknowledging and celebrating Assistive Technology Day, observed annually on the 4th of June.

Assistive technology plays a vital role in empowering persons with disabilities and visual impairments, enabling greater independence, inclusion, and equal participation in all aspects of life ,from education and employment to communication and daily living.

At LNLVIP, we remain committed to promoting access to innovative assistive devices and services that enhance dignity, opportunity, and quality of life for those we serve.

Empowering School Leadership for Inclusive Education

On 22nd May 2026, the Lesotho National League of the Visually Impaired Persons (LNLVIP) successfully hosted a Principals’ Training at Durham Link for 16 schools participating in our Inclusive Education Project.
As key decision-makers and gatekeepers of their schools, principals were equipped with essential knowledge and skills on:
✅ Inclusive education practices
✅ The Lesotho Inclusive Education Policy
✅ Strengthening support for Visually Impaired Learners

The training was expertly facilitated by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) Special Education Team, whose guidance made the session both insightful and impactful.

LNLVIP is excited about the strengthened commitment from school leaders to create inclusive, supportive, and accessible learning environments for all learners.

Together, we are making inclusive education a reality in Lesotho!

Vision Screening in Schools

The Lesotho National League of the Visually Impaired Persons (LNLVIP), in collaboration with DHMT and NHTC, recently conducted vision screenings at St. Cyprians Primary, Mabote RC Primary, and Life High School.

Each visit started with an interactive health talk, where learners were educated on the importance of protecting their eyes and maintaining good eye health.

The screenings aim to support early identification of visual impairments, with follow-up interventions including provision of medication and spectacles where needed.

LNLVIP remains committed to promoting eye health and reducing visual impairment among learners through timely and accessible services

Strengthening Inclusive Policing in Lesotho

The Lesotho National League of the Visually Impaired Persons (LNLVIP) successfully conducted two impactful training sessions on disability inclusion for police officers.

Maseru Rural Police– Held at Tribute Guest House ha matala (Thursday)
Thaba-Tseka Police– Held at Motherland Guest House( Friday)

These trainings focused on equipping police officers with knowledge and practical skills to better serve persons with disabilities, particularly visually impaired persons.

Key areas covered included:

* Understanding disability and visual impairment
* Effective communication techniques
* Handling incidents involving persons with disabilities
* Strengthening response mechanisms
* Ensuring equal access to justice for all

Through these sessions, officers gained a deeper appreciation of the importance of dignity, respect, and inclusionin their daily work.

An inclusive justice system begins with informed and responsive officers.

Last but not least.we proudly celebrate an extraordinary milestone achieved by one of our learners with visual impairment(totally blind) Molelekeng Sebili who has made it in the list of our top achievers. Molelekeng has also made history by becoming the first ever learner with visual impairment to successfully pass Mathematics since the subject was introduced to learners with visual impairement at our school.

Your determination, resilience, and hard work have truly paid off. You have broken barriers, inspired your peers, and shown us all that disability is not inability.

TERMS OF REFERENCE (ToR)
Consultant for Development of LNLVIP Strategic Plan

1. Background
The Lesotho National League of the Visually Impaired Persons (LNLVIP) is a non-governmental advocacy organization representing the interests of persons with visual impairments in Lesotho. LNLVIP seeks to strengthen its institutional capacity, strategic direction, and programmatic impact through the development of a comprehensive and inclusive Strategic Plan.

To achieve this, LNLVIP is seeking to engage a qualified Strategic Planning Consultant to facilitate and develop the LNLVIP Strategic Plan through a participatory and consultative process.

2. Purpose of the Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to conduct a participatory strategic planning process and develop a comprehensive, inclusive, and results-oriented Strategic Plan that will guide LNLVIP’s operations, programs, and organizational growth.

3. Scope of Work
The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:

3.1 Inception Phase
- Conduct a desk review of LNLVIP existing documents, policies, reports, and operational frameworks.
- Develop and submit an inception report outlining the methodology, work plan, and tools for the strategic planning process.

3.2 Consultative Engagements
- Facilitate one (1) consultative meetings with key LNLVIP structures including:
• LNLVIP Secretariat
• Executive Board
• District Branch Committees
• Branch Members in Leribe, Mohale’s Hoek, Maseru Urban, and Maseru Rural
- Ensure meaningful participation of women and youth, during consultations.

3.3 Internal Strategic Planning Meeting
- Facilitate a two (2) day internal strategic planning meeting with LNLVIP internal structures to validate findings, define priorities, and co-create the strategic direction.

3.4 Strategic Plan Development
- Conduct a situational analysis (SWOT and stakeholder analysis).
- Define the organizational vision, mission, values, and strategic objectives.
- Develop strategic pillars, outcomes, outputs, and indicators.
- Integrate disability inclusion, gender mainstreaming, and accessibility principles.
- Develop an implementation framework and monitoring and evaluation matrix.

3.5 Validation and Finalization
- Present the draft Strategic Plan to LNLVIP management and stakeholders for validation.
- Incorporate feedback and submit the final Strategic Plan.

4. Deliverables
The consultant is expected to deliver the following:
- Inception Report with methodology and work plan
- Facilitation of four consultative meetings
- Facilitation of a 2-day internal strategic planning workshop
- Draft Strategic Plan
- Final LNLVIP Strategic Plan (print-ready in accessible word format)

5. Duration of the Assignment
The assignment will be conducted over a period of twenty (20) working days and is expected to be completed before the end of May 2026.

6. Payment and Engagement Terms
The consultant will be paid a daily rate of M1,800 for twenty (20) days, subject to satisfactory completion of agreed deliverables. Payments will be made in accordance with LNLVIP financial procedures and contractual agreement.

7. Required Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Strategic Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Disability Studies, or a related field.
- Proven experience in strategic planning and organizational development.
- Demonstrated experience working with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) or within the disability fraternity (added advantage).
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of disability inclusion, gender equality, and accessibility principles.

8. Reporting and Supervision
The consultant will report directly to the LNLVIP Executive Director and will work closely with the LNLVIP Management and Executive Board throughout the assignment.

9. Ethical Considerations
The consultant shall uphold confidentiality, respect diversity, and ensure inclusive participation of all stakeholders, particularly women and girls.

10. Application Process
