Health X Partners CEO, Mr. Karl Hoffman, visited Lesotho on 30 April 2026 to acknowledge the impactful contributions of Population Services International (PSI) Lesotho and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) in strengthening health service delivery across the country.

The visit commenced at Makoanyane Military Clinic, where PSI-supported interventions at the facility were showcased. This was followed by a strategic engagement with the Ministry of Health Executive Management at Maseru District Hospital, reinforcing alignment on national priorities and a shared commitment to advancing Lesotho’s health agenda.

Mr. Hoffman subsequently engaged with EGPAF-supported adolescent health services at the same facility, where key milestones were highlighted. These included the launch of the Pediatric Dashboard and the unveiling of the BonoloHealth Decentralised Drug Distribution Model; innovations designed to improve access to quality care for children and adolescents. PSI further presented progress on its support to the Ministry of Health regarding the introduction of Lenacapavir in Lesotho, outlining achievements and updates to date.

The programme concluded with a courtesy visit to the American Embassy, followed by a meaningful engagement with PSI and EGPAF staff. This session included a meet and greet, an interactive Q&A dialogue, and the recognition of outstanding service, including the awarding of certificates to long-serving staff members from both organisations.

Strengthening partnerships. Advancing innovation. Delivering healthier futures.

On Wednesday, 3rd March 2026, the Ministry of Health Lesotho, with support from Population Services International (PSI) Lesotho and funding from Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), facilitated a Media Sensitization Workshop on HIV Prevention and PrEP, with a particular focus on Lenacapavir (LEN).
Lesotho continues to strengthen its National HIV Response, and the media remains a powerful partner in shaping public understanding, reducing stigma, and driving informed health choices.

This engagement was not just a training — it was a strategic demand creation effort for PrEP (Lenacapavir). When the media reports accurately, responsibly, and without stigma, communities are empowered to make informed decisions about their health.

To our journalists and media houses:
You are not just storytellers. You are public health champions, you can translate Public Health Science into Public Knowledge. Your words can break stigma. Your headlines can build hope. Your platforms can accelerate prevention and encourage Basotho to take advantage of PrEP. Lenacapavir represents convenience, discretion, and expanded choice in HIV prevention. Clear and ethical reporting ensures Basotho understand that PrEP is prevention — not treatment, not a vaccine — and that having options strengthens personal agency.

Together, government, partners, and media can:
🔹 Normalize HIV prevention
🔹 Promote informed choice
🔹 Combat misinformation
🔹 Support epidemic control in Lesotho

The fight against HIV is strengthened when information is accurate, empowering, and people-centered.
